Old Foreman overall was not as good as young Foreman. Young Foreman was busier and utilized all of his punches. Old Foreman pretty much was limited to a his jab against Holyfield. He would land occasional overhand rights but his only semi consistent punch was his jab.

Young Foreman used uppercuts, hooks, overhand rights, and his jab effectively.. he was more active and was a better finisher.

Holy would brawl with young foreman and this would be his undoing. There is no way that Holy would survive an exchange with Foerman.

The later Foreman was stronger but like what was written before, George punched slower and with less snap. (and not as busy)

Overall... yes, I'd rate the younger Foreman over the older version. What's with the thought the Holyfield couldn't go to war with a young Foreman though? A prime Holyfield isn't stupid... if the going gets that tough he will box and use his advantages in speed and footwork.

Holyfield was much more durable than Norton and even Frazier. He was more durable than Lyle as well. He was faster and had better footwork than these 3 as well.

Don't be surprised if Holyfield pushed a young Foreman back a few times. This is a 217-224 Lb Foreman we are talking about.

He was being typical Holyfield, which is being careless and brawling from time to time with a puncher. Yes he was stupid with Foreman. he got caught multiple times while trading, when he could have easily out-boxed him.

The times that Foreman DID hurt Holy, he wasn't able to follow up because he wasn't fast enough and because he just didn't have the same finishing ability of his former self.

Yes he is faster and more mobile then both of them. However he was still able to get caught ALL THE TIME by an old Foreman, a young Foreman cuts the ring off better and would finish him if he ever got Holy in trouble

In the Lyle fight you saw glimpses of what Old Foreman would be. He used his jab there.

And he only was able to use his jab against Holy like that because that was the only punch that he could consistently land. The rest of his weapons were useless.
