Harrison wasn't on the floor, he was in the ropes.

Sorry to derail your rant with actual facts.

Thank you for making me understand, oh wise one!

    So now I realize:

It was OK for Margarito & Resto to use loaded gloves, up until the time they got caught.

It was just fine for Nigel Benn to wail away on the back of McClellan's head.

    ------------------

I'm so glad I now have a true understanding of the sport. Up until now, I've evidently just been bumbling around in the dark. (Kind of like Tyson Fury, in the ring.)

Once again, I thank you, kind sir!
PLEASE share more of your pugilistic wisdom.

It was a Mayweather style forerarm smash. Its a fact really Fury is the closest thing to Floyd in boxing, and unless Ward gets active again soon Fury will be challenging him for p4p number 2 in September after he smashes Haye to bits.

What about when Mayweather does it? Illegal or legal?

It doesn't look that blatant when Floyd uses his arms.. And I can't recall him ever finishing a fight like that. It didn't help that Fury is big and clumsy, and did it to a much smaller man.

Shot was illegal.. surprised it was allowed to be honest.

But the worst thing about that performance was the singing afterwards.. Fury must be on some strong meds.

It didn't happen like that. Unfortunately for yourself the evidence is there for all to see. Fury did indeed hurt Cunningham with a bodyshot, but not as 'BADLY' as you've stated. Cunningham was still able to fire back with a couple of token rights, (albeit with nothing behind them) after the body shot. He does indeed try to grab hold of Fury afterwards to spoil on the inside, but Fury pushes him away with both arms, and then finally uses his forearm to create the distance required to land the kayo shot.

This logic doesn't wash with me. Just because somebody has escaped censure for the same offense, doesn't mean Fury should've. It's like Khan complaining about the points deductions against Peterson, or footballers complaining when penalties are given against them for shirt pulling in the area - it may not happen often, but if the referee penalises you he is well within his rights to do so.

Yes the shot was clearly illegal. Fury didn't just use his forearm to lift his head he used his forearm to break Cunningham's guard and pin his head back so he couldn't slip the shot even if he wanted to. Cunningham would have gotten stopped sooner or later though, he was ready to go.
