He doesn't foul like Derry though.

Derry In his last fight didn't foul once and kept to his talent.

You say that as if it were a bad thing!

Dirty will only lose his tag if he is whiter than white for at least another 2 fights...and I mean whiter than white!

good post. I'm convinced a properly prepared Toney beats Calzaghe.

Nemesis - so how come Toney is that overrated in your view?

Toney wouldn't be able to counter off the ropes with Calzaghe's workrate over whelming him.

    Calzaghe ain't Jirov.

Was this post simply designed to attempt and enrage rational persons? Calzaghe has won 44/44 fights, which suggests he can handle any styles. He has never looked like losinga nd never failed against any style at all. He is incredibly versatille.

Then you bring up Ashira? Who Joe easilly shut out with one hand. Ashira not a brilliant fighter but at least international level. What kind of arguments are these?

Then the hypocrisey at the end of your post. Your technical knowledge is zilch. Worse than zilch as you seem to attempt to bluff it and feign knowledge. It is zangerous for boxing that there are people like you out there writing articles. You begin talking about Toney being effective against southpaws then list Nunn (who gave Toney plenty of trouble and 3 ordinary fighters. You begin talking about lead left hooks being the only way to beat him, knowing full well Joe is a southpaw, like Nunn who managed to win rounds early on fighting at a pub-Calzaghe level of boxing good-ness.

Calzaghe is a top 50 ATG based on resume even now.
Top 20 in a true P4P, H2H basis. It is beyond doubt.

Your arguments were stupidly selective and one sided. You are blind. You even managed to miss a big plus for Toney, his own workrate.

Even if Toney does happen to have stylistic advantages, they'll only make it a more competetive loss. His is simply inferior to Joe Calzaghe. Not as good.
There are several versions of Calzaghe that could beat Toney in completely different ways.

looks like Terry touched a nerve there huh china-hand-joe.
Calzaghe's best opponents are old drained Eubank, Jeff Lacy and Kessler.....how can you be so confident about his credentials with his list of opposition the way it is.
when you say 'your arguments are stupidly selective and one-sided' I assume you are having a laugh?

Some good points about kessler there & his new 'army' of brit fans! Call me a cynic, but I only think they want Kessler to do well to boost Calzaghes legacy. Nothing to do with liking the dane for being a "nice fella" & all that sentimental bull****:D . & of course you are right about all these Calzaghe fans who have came out of nowhere, its not so long ago I remember Max Molyneux sticking up for Calzaghe on ESB without much backup, & now hes almost drowned out with all these new Calzaghe fans who have appeared from nowhere!

Us ESB old timers, the wool doesnt get pulled over our eyes so easily;) I remember the days when Joe was laughing stock on ESB general forum, & apart from Max & then later China Hand Joe, there was just about no one defending him. & thats the truth.

Ach max, my post was kinda tongue in cheek, my intention was to do the thread to see if I could wind a few folk up, but to my honest surprise the thread turned into another Joe Calzaghe discussion about if he would have beat James Toney:lol: Talk about my wind up backfiring! But i dont mind, as it made me laugh & realise Im not as smart as I think I am:think

Back to the drawing board I suppose...

& theres no doubt Enzo is going through a 'golden patch' at the moment. I would have said purple patch, but 3 world champions is highly impressive. To be honest I dont like Enzo, hes too angry for my liking. Seems to tke offence at questions, even when they are talking him & his son up! & all that slapping his fighters in the face, if they aint his own flesh & blood, he shouldnt be doing that. If he slapped my son, I would be down that gym the next day & knock hell outta the lot of them.(sorry for that last line, but its ESB & you have to act tough, the lounge tought me that valuable lesson) nobody slaps my familys face!

& if I did tell the forum everytime my period was due, you would be the first guy in to read my post. Following me around trying to make a name for yourself off my back, I should cut you loose right now with the 'ignore' option like Jeff has. But you got one more chance as Im in a charitible mood tonight. & heres the deal. No more petty insults about me or Scotland for the near future when you re talking directly to me, cos you havent worked hard enough getting to know me yet to be in a position where you can insult me, & I will see the funny side. Thats reserved for guys who have proven themselves here.

Anymore ****, & I will cut you loose like Jeff did.

Over to you, 'simpsons' its a moral dilemma of your own making. "Do I come in & slag off Dunky again so as not to lose face even though hes the poster I want to get at the most cos he fascinates me, but he will then cut me loose?"
"Or do I back down from my original stance, & maybe me & Dunky could become pals in the long run like I want really?"

Its like choosing a wire to cut. Do I cut the red or the blue? Over to you:deal

Don't read the Joe Calzaghe threads. Honestly guys, it is that simple.

I have to admit that I don't read half the **** on there and I'm a big Calzaghe fan. It will die down in a few days and he'll be back to being an over-rated eurobum again!

Hagler can go the distance and lose on points against a one handed Calzaghe. Great mate.

In what way does Calzaghe shutting-out Ashira one-handed (and it really was one-handed) possibly support your argument?

Less so than any of Haglers losses support a Calzaghe win.
