Well, then why not just move the weigh in weight down 10% so they fight at the weight agreed to? Seriously, am I the ONLY person that thinks a fight at 166 should be fought at 166? I can see maybe 8 hour prior weigh in so that a guy can eat and digest well ahead of time. Else, weigh him 36 hours in advance for the 'show' and again 4 hours before.

25 lbs in 36 hours? That cannot be good...can it?

If he comes in at 190 lbs, he is not just a very big SMW, he is a huge SMW...no one at SMW comes in over 186 lbs or so, on the night.

No, you're not. The 10% rule is there to protect the fighters by not letting them gain too much weight... but 1% would be cruel and/or staging the official weigh-in on Saturday would be much more dangerous because the fighters wouldn't even have time to rehydrate and gain back energy - weak, drained fighters would step into the ring.

The 10% rule pretty much guarantees safety (according to the organizations): fighters can gain a limited amout of weight so they can't be too dehydrated on Friday. But they can gain enough weight to regain energy and a healthy form for fight night... so it's a solution in the opinion of the organizations. And by the way, the WBC's 10-day weigh-in uses the 10% limit as well, so the fighter's weight is controlled before and after the official weigh-in as well... Whether these rules will prevent the Leavander Johnson situations (R.I.P. Champ!) is a good question, but I agree with the rules.

Rules are great but fighters and promoters always try to break them for a bit more chance of winning. The physical advantage is very important in boxing, so no matter what health policy our sport have and going to have, boxers are always going to try to take advantage of the weigh-in rules - risking brain damage for the sake of the terribly important win. But boxing is not about getting seriously hurt. Miranda at 190 would be dangerous to Abraham, yep, but gaining 24 pounds might be more dangerous for himself. I just don't what to see anyone getting seriously hurt. All I'm looking for is a great fight.

New Jersey has some interesting rules, but I think still a little too lax. A fighter has to weigh in 'somewhere official' about 30 days in advance, then a week in advance. I think they have to be 10%, 5% at this time, I really don't remember. (quick net check confirms my memory isn't COMPLETLY shot) This is for championship only.

Yep, and BBBoC (UK) rules are pretty strict as well... I believe there's a mandatory 5-day weigh-in for BBBoC sanctioned fights and their licencing policy is very strict as well.

Pantera doesn't need an avatar bet because IF Abraham wins he will start a hundred threads claiming that Abraham is the real deal, then he will leave ESB until Miranda fights again and then he'll claim that Abraham, the *****, will never dare to fight against Miranda at Cruiserweight.

At this point he would take a lifetime ban bet before he would put AA up as his avatar.

I really donot know miranda's metabolism However by looking at him I would say that he will step into the ring around 180 and Abraham 170 it looks as if Abraham didn't have to wok as hard to get to weight. Which could be that his cardio may not be as good or he maintained a good healthy balance through out his training and will be very strong with a lot of endurance.

Not to fond of the atmosphere that was somewhat unprofessional looking in the first bout. I think both fighters are warriors with tons of heart and balls but I'll be backing Miranda because of the strange episode that took place in the first fight. Two physicians attending to fighter damaged by a counter punch....biased at its best.

Anyone else here who can't stand fanboys who can't look at anything objectively and flaunt their ridiculously biased opinions probably because they crave attention?

I don't know if these kind of guys are really 'boxing fans'. I think they're just overly fanatical fans of certain particular fighters.
Anyway, regardless, i just can't stand people who blurt out dumb, biased BS for the sake of being fans.
