-Neither from the UK nor a Calzaghe fan.

-They fought, Calzaghe won, any other discussion is meaningless

A 43 yearold Hopkins just gave a couple years out of his prime Calzaghe the hardest and closest fight of his career, that should tell you something. Hopkins wins by early knockout or wide UD, Hopkins would be countering the awkward punching Calzaghe all night.

    It wasnt Joes hardest fight.

Joe said himself that Eubank was his toughest fight and Kessler his toughest opponent. Although he did concede that Hopkins was the craftiest opponent he has faced.

I thought the fight stunk and Hopkins was allowed to get away with to much man love. Cortez is biased.

howard eastman ? do you realise that he wasn't well thought of even on this side of the atlantic ? hopkins couldn't knock him out .

my opinion is calzaghe would beat hopkins prime or not .

Really seems like this one is a matter of perspective. And, we all know how biased our perspectives can be. Why don't we check the Compubox #'s.......

    Hatton's ruling 140

    Haye's ruling 200

    Calzaghe's owning 168-175

Three great champs coming from Britain, how many Canadians again?

The scorecards read otherwise, I watched the Kessler fight a couple times, Calzaghe was in control 80% of the fight, where in the Hopkins fight he was maybe 60% of the time, while also being floored early.

Hopkins and Calzaghe both cheated in various ways, Cortez tried to be fair, but not quite firm with both men. I think there were a few times both fighters could of had a point taken away, but Cortez did the right thing and let them fight out instead.

    Molitor, Bute, Alcine are champions
    Diaconu is getting a shot
Pacal is gonna get a shot soon
Demers could get a shot as well
Ngoudjo is gonna get a shot
Gaudet is gonna be a good gatekeeper
Stevenson have potential to be champion
Dierry Jean is a good young talent
David Lemieux have ****in great potential

for a country just over 31 000 000 person..it's not bad, when boxing ain,t even in the top 3 for most popular sport..

I was using those fights to point out the time frame in which I thought Hopkins was at his best. Howard Eastman was a good challenger, either way Hopkins isn't a KO artist. But he sure did box his ears off.

kessler was a much better fight than the hopkins one . being a brit and a calzaghe fan that one had me on the edge of my seat , joe was fantastic that night. the hopkins fight, you just had the feeling that the wily veteran was using all the tricks in the book. luckily, and surprisingly , the judges made the right choice.
