Lets discuss......when you vote please post and explain the reason why.

I will go first.....I would definitely like to see Floyd fight the winner of Canelo vs Trout. I like both guys (Trout more so) I think they are talented and big guys but both resume's are a little thin whoever wins this fight will be a very good opponent for anyone.

I'm not disappointed that Floyd hasn't decided to sign the fight now, that says to me he may not want to look past Guerrero (Ginger curse?) and besides if he gets past Guerrero and he wanted to fight Canelo then the fight is still there as he would hardly refuse.

At the same time I can understand people wanting this fight to be made and a guarantee now, but I think we should just chill for a minute if Canelo gets destroyed by Trout then people will claim he is a hype job and all this uproar is for nothing if he beats Trout then I really think the fight should and will be made.

No bc he could end up in a situation like the Judah fight. If Floyd signs to fight Canelo and Canelo loses Floyd will still have to face him or pay him to step aside. Plus these guys need to focus on who they have in front of them bc when you don't **** happens.

By signing to fight Canelo it not only disrespects Guerrero but gives the May 4th fight a forgone conclusion that the fight is a mismatch and could potentially hurt PPV sales.
Floyd is right not to have signed a Canelo contract at this point. He could have announced it after beating the ghost.

its not really signing the fight.

It more a guarantee in Writing that should both fighters win, then they'll fight in september. And its only required because Mayweather wanted him on the undercard.
And Alvarez rightly needed a guarantee as he's progressed beyond undercard fighting.

if floyd wants to fight canelo next, then he should have signed this. As having alvarez on the undercard will boost his pv sales of this fight, and also of the fight with alvarez.

And its only offing a guarantee that should they both win.

So to me this proves, should they both win, floyd doesnt want canelo. He'll probably want someone like Garcia next.

Yes Floyd should've had no problem with the agreement should Alvarez defeat Trout. Alvarez agreeing to be on Floyd's undercard was lining Floyd's pockets. Canelo is one of the biggest headlines in the sport and here he is taking his toughest opponent to date.

This is might be Floyd looking at his big Showtime contract and thinking how he's going to coast out his career with easy fights like Malinaggi, Khan, Garcia.

It IS signing the fight it is exactly that....I don't see how it isn't and in anycase I don't see it a problem in calling it that either....Anyway I can see what you are saying but can you clarify where you heard that it was a guarantee that it was ONLY if Canelo beat Trout. I read that it was guarantee win or lose, but Im not so sure.

Also what do you think it says about how Mayweather is looking at Guerrero if he signs before he faces Guerrero?

If he promised Canelo verbally already to get him on the May 5 card then yes, of course he should have signed. He wanted Canelo's draw without having to fight him. He's a ducker, always will be remembered that way

You are right Floyd was using Canelo to help bring in more Mexican viewers but don't forget that Canelo was getting exposure too, it is a two way street.

I think everyone knows Floyd will not fight Paulie, he may well fight Garcia and Khan at some stage though.....if they continue their win streaks and move up to 147lbs.

    LOL! I was like WTH?

OK and what if he didn't promise this verbally? Then it's OK for him not to sign at this stage?

Many headliners have fighters on their undercards without going on to face him so lets not act like Floyd is doing something unprecedented here!

**** he can fight whoever he wants and he is still gonna get paid, due to having guaranteed money. why risk his '0' when he can get paid the same amount(or a decent amount) against a Danny Garcia or Devon Alexander? I wish he would fight Canelo next, ideally.
