At worst he's the third best HW since Lennox retired...

    I'd say that's pretty good.

Well let's see good amateur Yes
    Olympic Gold medalist Yes

    Pro career
Solid wins against faded good fighters very early in career. Byrd and Donald - Yes

Solid wins against prime opponents - Chambers, Chagaev, Takam, - Yes

Good solid contender wins in prime/near prime Wach, Perez, Charr.

    Good overall record- yes

Lone loss - going the distance against an ATG Hall of fame heavyweight.

Povetkin is very good and his resume backs that up.

He became an ATG when he battled ATG Firtha in a brawl for and ages in which he squeaked a decision and took Firthas ATG status from him.

    THIS^

Povetkin would be a hard nights work for virtually any fighter in history. Very solid fighter.

I fully expect him to crumple Wilder into a little ball of tinfoil.

you went from wins over not bad opponents and old men and guys who shouldn't have a title shot to.... claiming "good resume", and then jumped to claiming "very good resume" in the next paragraph with no explanation as to why you made those 2 jumps.

could you underline the "very good" part of the evidence for his pro career?

    I cant see it.

Though I agree with your point & the rest of your post, I don't think Chagaev was prime when Povetkin beat him.
