Where should either man go from here? Wlad should definitely look to fight the big ugly lump that is Valuev, or perhaps get a date with Povetkin. But is there any realistically sound fighters who can take a fight on June 20th?:think Haye have to get back in the line and fight an eliminator or so. Arreola anyone? How about Haye vs. Toney, Haye vs. "Kingpin" Johnson, Haye vs. Brewster or even maybe Haye vs. Povetkin? What are your opinions?
Wlad has to try to get the best available opponent for June 20. I can't see how they cancel the event with so much already invested. We know Valuev and Arreola are out as potential opponents. Meanwhile, Haye gets to work on his one-liners and trash talk some more.
There certainly isnt no superheroes in boxing anymore, just droids... Anyways, imo, the fight wasnt pushed or advertised enough here in America, no net works to give it a push, nothing....so its not like the mainstream public lost something they didnt know was even going to happen, unless u was a die hard fan. Klitscko-Klitschko would replace the Haye bout. But like David Haye actually having balls, and the brothers fights eachother, it wont ever happen.
Personally for me I'd like the fight to still happen once Haye has recovered from his injury and once Wlad has fought on the 20th. Whether that happens is another thing entirely. Wlad needs to fight this month to avoid ring rust and Haye needs to get back in ring asap aswell as he hasnt fought for sometimes now either. Then hopefully they can meet in a reshedueled clash in november...
Wlad is pretty much f-cked, he won't find a decent replacement for the scheduled date. Most likely, he'll end up busting-up a former contender like Rahman. Haye will probably continue lobbying for a fight with Wlad, end-up taking a fight with a fringe-contender, get KTFO'd, retire from boxing, and finish-out his career as a judge/host on a brit reality show.
Nothing to worry about guys, I just read on the main page that Kevin Johnson is willing to take the fight on short notice, looks like we have a mega-fight after all:happy **** this, I need a tall glass of vodka
It'll be a good fight, but it's probably too early for Johnson to get a fight like this. But at least Johnson's willing to take it, he's going to get knocked around the ring though and stopped.
Why not Wlad-McCall? The Atomic Bull just had a fight, and should still be in fighting shape. To date, he has still never been knocked down, and on a recent episode of On the Ropes, McCall explained the strategy he would employ to beat Wlad, and he may be one of the few heavyweights capable of employing such tactics against Wlad. Wlad-McCall is the fight I would most want to see right now, given the fact a lot of the top names will not fight him for one reason or another.
If Haye only needs a couple of weeks to heal; I think Wlad and Haye should just wait and fight each other as soon as possible. Wlad gains nothing by beating up another last-minute replacement. The only thing he gains is not having to fight Haye. If Haye needs longer to heal, then Wlad should try to get a decent opponent rather than sticking to the date and taking on whichever last-minute bum is willing to show up.
Haye is done for a while, Wlad will KO a average replacement fighter like Toney or a not yet ready Brewster. Then he will have to take care of mandatory Povetkin later this year. So Haye has to wait now. But read my lips: Team Klitschko will soon throw in Vitali again to face Haye.
According to German media (Bild) they hold serious talks with Chagaev at the moment, apparently they already talked about purse splits. I think there is a decent chance that fight might happen.
Team Wladimir are hoping it gets rescheduled. http://www.sportinglife.com/boxing/...ME=boxing/09/06/04/BOXING_Haye_Klitschko.html
Can happen indeed. Although it will be a bit meaningless because Chagaev will be stripped of his ´Champion in recess´ belt/status. But again there are not many other options. Valuev will never take on a Klitschko.
