Ordinary win against an ordinary fighter. I expect Floyd would have looked better and better as the fight went on, and might have turned it into a dominating win against an ordinary fighter.

But the way it ended ruined it for the purposes of legacy-building.

Honestly in the replay you could tell on Floyds face that he had bad intentions on his mind as he approached Ortiz. Why he couldn't read it I dont know

***** way to win. Boxrec may say KO4 but everyone who saw it knows he didn't end it with skill.

How much credit should a hockey player get scoring on an empty net?

Ortiz' talent, ability, record, and everything meaningful that could be taken and used as a great win on his record was lost the second he decided to pop him when he wasn't looking. The end.

It's one of his top 10 wins, and his best performance since Gatti.

No, he wasn't looking when he was hit either time. Watch again. Thats why Floyd's face lit up the way it did, he saw both guys not looking. Ortiz was not looking at him for the first or second shot, period.

Isn't that what the sport of boxing is all about, to have two similarly matched opponents "SQUARE OFF" in a ring under controlled environment to see who is the better man, not who takes advantage of a situation like its a street fight?

After the fist shot fired by floyd, the ref wasn't even looking at the fighters. but ortiz was looking at cortez hoping the ref will make an action about the first shot. Then came the straight right which is the one seen by cortez. Honestly by it an unsportsmanlike attitude by floyd, but that's just the repercussion of the dirty cheap shot that ortiz did.

The name looks good but he didn't win this on ability, so the name is meaningless. What's worse is the sport of boxing took another hit, but money may got his pay.

Floyd was dominating the fight. The knockout is barely relevant other than the way it happened.
