Now its less than 2 weeks until the Limond-Khan fight, & there is STILL no word if it will be shown live on ITV:-(

Warrens ITV contract has run out now, & the silence is deafening. No word of the fight being shown on ITV after my last check a few minutes ago, very worrying if I may say so myself.

WTF is happening here, is Amir Khans biggest fight of his career & first REAL test not even going to be screened by ITV or any other TV station for that matter?

Someone here must know what the **** is going on, cos this fight is getting too close for comfort, & still no verification that any of us who havent bought a ticket will see the fight:|

Its time to put the posters here to the test, & see who REALLY has some inside info:yep

Don't worry so much Dunky. If Frank Warren ever lets down boxing fans, I'll leave this forum.

Its too late China, my big fat scottish arse is well & truly flapping. I have moaned for years that Willie Limond has never had his chance to shine after he was thrown in at the deep end against Arthur, & just when I thought Limond was going to get his big break...

How dare you think you can console me with your 'everything is going to be alright dunky cos I said so' soothing style comments China, & you call yourself a friend?

I demand definitive answers to my question. Now is not the time for giving me a virtual cuddle & kiss on the forehead & singing me to sleep with a lullaby. Im looking for the ESB posters to step up to the plate here. There is always some **** saying they work with Warren or some other ****, its time for the real posters in the know to give us some definitive answers.

Unless of course there are no posters here who have high profile contacts...

Sorry for being so serious in the latter stages of my post China, but you know me when it comes to scottish boxing, I do not suffer fools gladly & demand proper answers to proper questions...

I really don't think it's a good idea for you to watch the thrashing which will unfold Dunky. It'll be just too painful for you!!

ITV have a 2 hour slot reserved that night, so I expect it to be on ITV. Im sure its just the crossing of T's and dotting of I's thats left.

Setanta have purchased Fight Academys next 5 shows, if they were to purchase Sports Networks shows too then surely they'd be THE major player in uk boxing.

I personally atill think he'll go back to ITV, but I think ITV will demand better quality. Its a bit tight on Frank because some great match ups have fallen through last minute for him on ITV.

I think he will stay with ITV for now, but in my opinion boxing as a sport just isn't cut out for a long period on terrestrial TV in todays environment.

If ITv get a non exclusive deal, and the right person at the helm, I think it could potentially rejuvinate boxing.

They need to have the ability to pick up shows from abroad, specifically the US. They then need someone at the helm who knows the sport well enough to spot decent match ups that arent perhaps as high profile as the De La hoyas, Mayweathers etc.. that will cost a fortune. ITV then need to advertise the fight on their other sports shows, web site and a couple of well placed ads. They also need to repeat the show 2 or 3 times during the following week - something they currently dont do and it annoys the hell out of me.

If Sentanta get the rights to Brian Peters shows too then I will cancel my Sky Subscription.

Dunky will be excited when he sees this thread has (at least) 13 posts now, which will lead to him anticipating some kind of genuine updates from those in the know!
