Ok, so most think Floyd is gonna win, which brings me to the biggie...

I don't agree with most thinking Floyd will win. Most of the predictions seem pretty even, the last one I checked on this page with a lot of votes had Pacquiao slightly ahead.

Anyway, yeah Mayweather will for the most part get credit. Sure, some will criticize and say that Pacquiao was just too small (unjustified criticism IMO) and others will bring up the time wasted from 2008-09 (justified), but MOST will give him his credit. The same goes for Manny if he beats Mayweather.

Some will always find ways to downgrade a win. It's not very hard to do.

Muhammad Ali beat a Sonny Liston who wasn't training seriously and drinking heavily and older than his reported age. Liston wasn't in shape for the rematch either, after the original date got scrapped because of Ali's hernia. Ali's first reign was filled with Liston leftovers and weak-ish contenders. He didn't beat Joe Frazier until George Foreman had destroyed him, arguably didn't beat Ken Norton in any of the 3 fights, got lucky decisions against Earnie Shavers and Jimmy Young, and Foreman had one of the stupidest game plans in a big fight ever.

Sugar Ray Leonard beat versions of Wilfred Benitez of Roberto Duran who didn't train much, chinny Ayub Kalule, a controversial win over Marvin Hagler, a moderately talented Donny Lalonde who had to shrink himself, and a Thomas Hearns who may have cut too much weight being 6'1 and 145 and was still outboxing Ray handily for much of the fight.

See? It's not hard to do if you just choose to look at things one way.

If floyd wins u can't say pac was too small when you look at the way pac came in for his last two fights against hatton and cotto.

typical *******..avoiding the question at hand...HE ISN'T SAYING HE CANT OR CAN DO IT...HE IS SAYING WHAT IF HE DOES DO THAT...

PAC FANS ALWAYS AVOIDING QUESTIONS..THEY ASK FOR A SOURCE...U GET THEM THE SOURCE AND THAN THEY GIVE NO CREDIT TO YOUR SOURCE...

IT IS VERY LIKLEY THAT FLOYD WILL "BOX" AROUND PAC...HE HOLDS A SIGNIFICANT REACH ADVANTAGE AND HE IS VERY GOOD AT 'FIGHTING TALL"...

EITHER WAY FLOYD WONT GET THE RESPECT IF HE WINS..FANS LIKE YOU WILL DOWNPLAY THE WIN

I'm confident enough that FLoyd will have an easy time in this fight that I won't even bother with an analysis. Just feel free to bring this thread back and throw it in my face if I am proven wrong.

    Exactly.

And you find that 20-30 years on, MOST people don't think like that with Ali and Leonard.

    Same will go for Floyd.

If Pac knows how to cut off the ring.. How come Margarito had Cotto in the same position as Pacman and he was able to cut off the ring while Cotto was retreating the same way and fighting off the back foot.... B/c although Margarito aint really ****.. he knows how to cut the ring off and he is tall and rangy. Pacman had to actually wait for Cotto to stop running and man up to get to him with some good shots. Pac's defense while he is on the offensive is non existent. Since we all know he will attack Mayweather, Mayweather can have a counter punching field day and find some excellent shots anytime he wants to step in. As long as Floyd does not get too defensive and if Manny somehow stops him from going to the body(catching him with his new right hook or if he throws some good counters himself) then Manny will get beat. Plain as that.
