I'm curious as to peoples opinions about Nate's chops as a commentator....

    Thanks for your input!

he's really good. Great mix of objective observation and personal anecdote.

    also, not punchy.

    cross-posted from the other thread:

Nate has all the qualities to be an excellent commentator

he is articulate, is able to explain technical concepts without being too abstract, is FUNNY, is honest, and knows the history of the game

    shannon briggs is good too

i think both of those guys are already better than some of the guys that have been on HBO (i'm thinking of ray leonard in the past and lennox currently)

Kevin Kelley should really have a job with a big network. SHowtime should hire him as the new Bobby Czyz. Kelley is 100 times better then Czyz.

IMO, right now, he's rather average. But he has potential. With some seasoning he might become pretty good.

Let me put it this way, though - it is ALWAYS a pleasure to listen to ANYONE besides annoying grandstander Teddy Atlas.

I think they should bring in Jackie Mason again.....i loved it when he was ripping on Nate

But yeah, would like to see Nate as commentator again.
