According to The not-so-good Left-sweeping-punch :yep

"Felix Sturm is caught in a legal battle over his contract"

Seems there's a lot of that going that in Europe

He did much better once he went southpaw on Oscar's AZZ. The way they work behind their jabs and the high guard defense are similar, too. Strum didn't do any body shots unlike Oscar in their fight.

I like Sturm a lot but he's not looking to do anything HOF worthy.

Oh well. I'd make millions staying in my country too if I could.

Sturm was signed to Universum, a stable known to let it's fighters fight easy fights, so they don't loose their belts. Boxers like the Klischkos, Sturm or Zsolt Erdei are very angry with them because of that. The Klits were able to leave Universum after a court battle, and currently Sturm is doing the same. He actually hired the lawyers the Klitschkos used to get out of their contracts.
As far as I'm informed, the court has already ruled in favor of Sturm, and he is now freelancing. He is planing to build up his own stable, and has already signed some young german boxers.
The WBA has extended the time-period for Sturms next mandatory defense, because of his legal troubles, but he plans to be back in the ring by the end of the year.

Erdei will probably be the next to go to court against Universum, as he is also very upset with the kind of fights he gets.

i never liked him but imo Sturm deserves respect.
he took his first title shot on two days notice then he traveled to the US to fight a legend in his second defense and got robbed
he rematched Castillejo and Griffin and so behaved like a champ
a fight Abraham and Pavlik couldnt get done but Strum at least fought Sylvester and Gevor the best available opponents.
he looked a bit aged in his recent fight. i dont expect him to do any great things but sure it will be interesting how he looks like with Roach and after the layoff.

Erdeis contract with universum expires with the end of the month

He kicked DeLaHoya's ass, they gave it to Oscar, as they set this bout up as a build up for Delahoya-Hopkins. But, they seriously seriously underestimated Felix Sturm....I think it was unfortunate that he was robbed this fight, as I think it weighed on his decision not to fight again in the states. In the end I think boxing fans here in the states missed out.......He is a great boxer....I am glad he has a successful career......

Don't hate on herb, the man speaks truth. Oscar just simply got his ass handed to him by a superior european warrior. Sturm was simply being nice letting Oscar land some punches here and there, or that slickster would've shut the Golden Girl out.

he would have been knocked out by taylor (yes taylor), pavlik, abraham, and would get his head boxed off by martinez. also, many of these "up and comers" would beat him right now. but...as long as he has that strap he will rake in millions over there. i can't say i blame him. i would probably do the same thing. but you are very right my friend...he is all smoke and mirrors.

do not confuse the taylor who has been knocked cold three times with the taylor i was referring to. the taylor who won the title...the mw champ...which is what i was going for (chronologically) would have destroyed sturm. it would have been a joke. in fact, if that taylor (or anyone like him in both skills and hbo marketability) still existed, this would be the type of fight i was referring too where sturm's handlers would cash is fat ass out on.
