Ok, WHO does Cotto have to fight to gain some respect?

The guy is at least top 15 p4p... No sure about you but anyone in the top 20 p4p for that matter in the WORLD gets respect from me.. I mean we are talking boxing here not squash!

Here we go again paul williams coming out of your ass again, man is 6,2 80 inc reach vs 5,8 and 67 reach bad mach up. Paul did very well with winky which proves he is not a true welter, just because he makes the weight doesn't mean he is a true welter. any man at 6,2 shouldn't be a welter but of coarse he wants all the advantage he can get because someone with the same height and reach would be on even playing feilds. quintana got lucky on the first fight because paul underestimated him. the other welters no better than that.

 

Listen if he doesn't have your respect by now, he probably won't ever get it. Guy has fought at least 4 top 10 WWs which should garner anybody's respect.

As per him fighting at MSG, I don't think that's a problem. Boxing REALLY lacks the big local draws anyways. I was watching a Tony Lopez comp and he was able to draw 14K to Arco Arena against a relative nobody. Local draws are extremely vital to boxing...and that's something that's all but dead. Where's the home town draws these days? Pavlik might be one and Cotto is clearly another. The "hometown gift" talks are hilarious considering how there are no GIFTS in a close fight. Seriously....when two good fighters fight, they usually have disputed decisions.

Cotto never really hurt Shane. Cotto's jab is what won him that fight if you saw it. I was there and saw the whole thing. You're acting like Mosley wasn't a match for Cotto. Cotto didn't walk out of that fight looking like he just woke up either. Shane's face was swollen and Cotto was cut in that fight. Stop being delousional.

Secondly, you saying "Clottey also didn't wanna step it up because he knew he was would have to pay the price" is ridiculous The only time Cotto really hurt Clottey was by tossing him to the floor because he was getting fustrated. It's kinda hard to step it up when you're on one leg. You can't honestly tell me Clottey was paying the price for anything, Cotto couldn't really hurt him.

As far as Pacquiao goes, I can't wait to see the type of game plan he comes up with for Cotto. It's gonna be great:hey

 

Don't be silly. Paul weighed in at 157 for the Winky fight because he just couldn't keep that much weight on him. And he walks around lighter than Cotto. They weigh the same on fight night.

It's funny. All the Cotto fans want everyone to have this mad respect for him, but they make these same excuses as soon as someone brings up Paul Williams. If he's the best in boxing, he should not hide behind Bob Arum and get the fight done.

He deserves a good payday after fighting Clottey, and believe me, this Pac fight is going to be easy pickings for him. Extremely easy. He starches Pac in under 6 rounds. But after that, it's time to get back to work. And he needs to fight PW.

Paul Williams doesnt fight at WW anymore. Seen that his last fight was at Middleweight. If anything Cotto should try to regain his belt against Mosley since Mosley is the champ.
