OK WTF, why does everyone say shane has bad defense

OK this is boxing folks, Shane takes risks, to get his shots in. he does drop his hands sometimes and once in a while he make mistakes.

he not a crisp boxer like floyd, not many are,

but shane does not get hit that much for the most part. i want to end this perception that shane has bad defense.

he does not box as much when he got to 147, but when he was at 135 i dont think shane ever got hit with a punch as he was always on his toes doing his power boxing.

In the fights that he won, he never really got hit too too much. mayorga hardly landed a clean shot on shane in the fight.

i think the fact that he is able to stand in teh pocket and gets caught sometimes, especially when he pulls out creates the impression that he defense is lacking. his in fighting is much more superior to floyds bc he does amazing damage on the inside. getting hit to the face as someone who likes to ATTACK the body is the risk that u take when u attack the body.

but the shane i see, is using angles to get his shots in, take risks, but gets in and out and gets caught occasionlly. just becuase u see an elite fighter get caught clean with a one or two shots per round does not mean he has bad defense. he is a guy who lieks to fight and boxes sometimes, its his mechanical makeup as a fighter.


people mistake his offense first style for bad defense its not the case. this is why he has had so much longevity in the business. if he had bad defense he would be shot by now.

if u take as much risk as he does, u are bound to get hit once in a while, but if u go back and watch his fights closely, she is a very skilled defensive fighter. he blocks, parries, uses his feet to create space when necessary jumps in, in his younger fights, he had tons of head movement.

its seems alot of newbies in boxing see the way he fights as an old man and has what i think is false perception of shane bc he lost a step.

i have seen 100 threads saying his defense is bad.

 

he did a better of job of this at 135. i have seen countless people in teh past year in posts say that shane has be defense. i was waiting for them to come out to debate this. but i am gonna have to single them out next time.
