Yep. You know that excuse will be coming out if RJJ wins. I agree with Redood, this is a great spot for RJJ to be in. And he gets to make big $$$ as well.
It's not entirely out of the question, especially considering some of things that we've seen over the past two weeks. I do however feel that its unlikely. The vast majority of Roy's speed, agility and timing is gone. I also believe that his punches have lost a great deal of snap.. He has not stopped a fighter in many years, and is now facing a man who has never lost. I could be wrong ( as we all may be ), but I don't see Jones taking this fight on any level, decision or stoppage..
thats right. and the big difference between hopkins and jones now, even though they are both faded, is immense. hopkins, at 45, can still mix it with the best which is incredible. but jones has had some serious situations. i guess the one thing going for roy is hopkins' performance against both pavlik and calzaghe.
You don`t believe that. You`ll be tuning in to this so called "meaningless" fight just like 99% of this board.
if he beats him it means he was the better fighter on the night. simple as that. thats a stupid post on a stupid thread.
As a Calzaghe fan, I admit that beating Jones at this point isn't that big of a deal. Jones is shot That said, I understand why he took the fight. He wants a big fat payday before he retires and Jones was the biggest payday out there The only people who I want to hear give credit to Joe are the ones predicting that Roy is going to knock his ass out. When Joe wins an easy UD or a TKO, they should at least admit Joe's better than they thought he was. Other than that, I don't care
