It wouldn`t. Us Brits would do the American downgrade by saying Joe was past his prime etc etc.............
Once again, eze completely misses the point and goes to another place rather than the important. Roy Jones is way past his best, Roy knows it, Joe Calzaghe knows it, and we know it so why is that important that eze brings it up once again? What is important is that Joe Calzaghe wants to leave the game undefeated and crown his career beating the most talked about names around 160-to-175 pounds in America and those are obviously BH and RJJ... It doesn't matter to him that they're old and past it since they are the ones who wanted with Joe since the Welsh is undefeated, a champion for so long and HBO has his eye on him. Otherwise, why would HBO want a 24/7 series for this one? Very simple, because this is a glamour fight between big names of the past all the way to the present. People really want to see it.
thats because european fighters who dont fight the best prime fighters of their era cant be downgraded. now you know the difference.
Well Lets hope for Jones sake he's not as shot as critics like to say these days. If Jones manages to out box Calzaghe what will they say then? Joe was shot??? I can't wait to see yet more crow being served come November 8th!
this is just another fight for Joe. Argubly easier than Hopkins if it sells tickets and gets the crowd going. This forum is set up by another petty yank
he deserves a little credit imo. but not the way the nuthuggers present it. calzaghe has said jones is shot, seems his fans forget this and try to convince everyone that this victory will be huge. far from it.
If he beats Jones there will be people saying he can't beat Tarver or Johnson. Calzaghe is a smart man. He hasn't done enough to impress the american public but in the UK he is a God. I dislike his slappy style but he squeezed through boxing superstardom
Yes he did say he plans to knock him out. http://sport.setanta.com/en/Sport/News/Other-sports/2008/10/21/Boxing-Calzaghe-on-Jones/
Hopkins keeps getting older by a year daily, he'll be 46 tomorrow, though I noticed Jones is now a ''40'' something fighter too.
Toney's win over Holyfield was an excellent display of his skills. As far as legacy? Added nothing significant other than a big name in his resume imo. Same goes for Calzaghe when he beats Jones, who you desperately try to describe as a better fighter than he was 5-6 years ago. You sir are correct. :good
So beating up on a jittering old man who can barely move is displaying ones skills... he may aswell ask Enzo to use some pads so he can duck a few swings and lay into stationary targets.
