Okay I just re-watched the Soto-Lorenzo fight..Cortez really screwed up. Big time! First off, Cortez wasn't even focusing on the two fighters when Lorenzo went down, he looked caught by surprise. But where he really screwe up was after the first KD (when Soto grazed the back of Lorenzo'shead) Cortez counts to 8 in spanish and then in spanish asks, "how are you, are you okay?" Lorenzo replies "Very well", and Cortez says "okay" and lets them continue. He had deemed Lorenzo FIT to continue AFTER the supposed hit while he was down!!! Then Soto unloads on Lorezo, cortez jumps in all of a sudden and seems to stop the fight but then backs off, then Soto continues his annaliation of Lorenzo, Cortez jumps in, Lorenzo meanwhile was dropping to his knees. Cortez calls a time out and after being a prostitute according to Bunce, DQ's Soto!!! The Middle paragraph was the oddest thing of the entirely odd situation. What do you guys think?
I feel it was Cortez's fault. He's the one that should be disqualified. He cause all the confusion. It's not like Soto pounded on Lorenzo while he was out, he was just trying to finish the fight, besides Cortez didn't tell him to stop until the last hit.
yeah that was a really odd way of handling that situation i must say...cortez lost credibility because of that imo
And Cortez let the fight continue after the punch!!! He let them fight, gave Lorenzo the 8 count, asked him if he was okay, and let them go at it, THEN Cortez jumps in once Lorenzo is really done and DQs Soto for the punch that was landed before Cortez deemed Lorenzo fit to go on, WTF!? CORTEZ LET THE FIGHT GO ON!
Cortez let an injured fighter bleed, slumped on he canvas for what seemed like an eternity. It was like I was watching a dying rooster in a cockfighting arena.
So true, and even though Lorenzo was faking his head injury, if Cortez was "safety first" as he claimed, why did he leave a "supposedly" semi-concious, looked as if he was slowly dying, blood gushing Lorenzo flat on the canvas for10 minutes?
[yt]zq0RAEeLjHI[/yt] Despite the disqualification, it was a very good performance from Soto. He took apart and stopped a guy who had never been KOed before (In my books anyway). Lorenzo had put up good performances against the likes of Nate Campbell and Juan Diaz, Soto handled him with relative ease.
lol at the end of the video. Does Lorenzo think he legitimately won? And he doesn't seem hurt by that "intentional" hit after the decision was made. He deserves a ****en oscar for his performance!
for someone that was soooo hard up on hatton he sure has ****ed his last assignments up lmao ...didn't skip a beat in the hatton fight though!
