Okay I know everybody is hyped up about how Manny handled Oscar Sat night, make no mistake i was happy as hell. But lets get back to reality here. That was not even aavg version of Oscar, the man was plodding, he has never plodded, his hand speed was slow, and his reaction time was slow. Some of you guys are making Manny the next Sugar Ray Robinson. I mean lets look at this, David Diaz was more competitive against manny than oscar was....Be Happy but also be realistic.
thats easy to say after he gets his ass kicked....he wasnt so washed up shutting steve forbes out was he??
I agree. He never seemed to slip or duck either. I dont know if I just never noticed that he doesnt move or if he was just really stiff and sluggush Saturday. Either or, Manny brought his A game and deserved to win.
We should not take anything away from the pacman, but one thing is for sure, the oscar from 10 years ago would've at least engaged instead of just being a punching bag.
Great point. The win over Oscar was a good win but Oscar seemed weight drained and definitely not on point.
I'm disapointed to see so very few acknowledge Manny's footwork in this fight. It was top ****in' notch. Watch the Quartey and Trinidad fights, which were arguably Oscar's prime, where the two mentioned simply don't compare to Pac's performance in this area.
Don't get me wrong i'm taking anything from Manny, but you cannot sit there and tell me that was the best version of Oscar. So you are telling me that the version of Oscar that fought SweetPea, Hopkins, Quartey, Mosley etc. was the same one from Sat night. Hell the version of Oscar that fought forbes would have been more competitive than the one sat night. My point is don't make it seem like Manny divined wine or anything, I m calling it like it is, he beat the washed up form of Oscar. The mans body was in quicksand, he could not move or anything. Manny did what he was supposed to do. But im not going to say it was a against a man who was still a brillant fighter, cause that is a damn lie. It was a one sided boxing lesson, B-hops performance was a brilliant performance against a younger prime opponent in Kelly Pavlik
That was no different from the Oscar of Forbes. Difference is it is the no.1 p4p in there and not Forbes. Oscar was elusive, moved alot, fast, hit with power and threw very very fast combinations to offset DLH trying to get brave. Im sure Pac,s power and combinations had alot to do with Oscar being lost in there.
I agree. he was all that, and schooled whatever was left in Oscar. But even Roach, said thats why he knew they would beat Oscar, cause he no legs could not pull the trigger anymore etc. And thats why he was so confident about the fight in the first place. And i would like to reineriate I was glad Manny did what he did, but im not going go crazy with it and put him in with the likes of margo, floyd, cotto, etc
Pacman has more to do on what happen to delahoya, just look at what MAB did in his last fight in china, MAB looks fantastic.
