I can agree with this. I think Marquez did more than enough to win the first, but Manny blitzing thru him 3 times in the first round and just going after Juan despite being outclassed I have the first one a draw. 2nd and 3rd fights close, but swaying towards Jmm. First 8-9 rounds were even vs Norwood, both a knockdown each, and in the late rounds Marquez turned up the heat and outlanded him. Against John tho, I think Marquez was more consistent and John would only throw in the last seconds to impress the judges. For me the hardest fight to score, John was probably even more accurate, but Marquez landed more on him. Draw is fine with me, but I still think Marquez clearly won.
All 3 fights were 8-4ish for JMM, but the 3 KDs made the 1st one really close, the draw with JMM keeping belts doesn't qualify for robbery in my book. The 2nd one however does, close but clear for JMM, while the 3rd was daylight robbery straight outta hell. That was the last bit for me, I barely watching the half of boxing since, nor do I give much passion into discussion. And this year doesn't look good on prizefighting either.
Yes gifted my brotha gifted Your Avatar is ths **** ! I remember their fight ,Barrera caught Johnny with a lovely uppercut and he just laughed it off .Tapia was a beast ! :good
MAB-JMM was a close fight too that would have been even closer if Nady didnt **** up in one of the rounds where MAB knocked Marquez down and instead of scoring the knockdown for MAB he ends up taking a point from him for hitting while JMM was down, Nady is such a **** referee.
I think (but don't quote me) it was something stupid, a technicality like his corner entering the ring or something like that. Not even a towel throwing or looking for a stoppage, just confusion about the time on the round clock maybe, or coming in to argue with the ref about some call, maybe a knockdown or foul ruling. I might be confusing it with someone else with a dodgy early career DQ loss around or in their pro debut. :think
IB funfact: Marquez's brother Rafael also lost his pro debut, by knockout, against a 50+ fight veteran journeyman, in what he insists to this day wasn't actually a paid bout but an exhibition.
:yep Props to you in pointing out both Marquez bros losing their debuts totally forgot about that one. Wasn't Rafa's a legit loss tho?
This in a nutshell. Specifically I felt he got robbed vs John and Pac in the 3rd fight. Lost to Norwood, and Pac in the first 2 bouts IMO
