That it was a legit kayo loss, there is no doubt. What is in question is whether it was a legit professional sanctioned bout and therefore eligible to count on his official record. ;)

Members of the Marquez family would tell you he was still technically an amateur until what is listed as his sophomore effort.

I don't think he got "robbed" in any of them (haven't seen the Norwood one to comment). They was all close enough to warrant a pts victory for either but I had him winning all of them except Pacquiao 1 which I called a draw. The only one I voted for was Chris John to even out the scoring a bit because *****s are gonna come on here and say he was robbed against Pacquiao pruely because they are haters not because they believe it to be true or might not have even seen the 1st and 2nd fights

So far, 50% or more think Jmm deserved the decision in all of them except one, DRUMROLL... Pacquiao-Marquez I! Not a surprise as Manny smacked Juan up the side of the head and made him do a swan dive thrice in the first round before Jmm did a memorable comeback eclipsed by only Corrales-Castillo I.
The one that does surprise me is Norwood, whom at the moment so far half think he won it and half think Marquez won it. Close fight up til the late rounds. I'll rewatch that one again before FNF.

I bet you'll be asleep by the 7th round.

One of the most sleep inducing fights i have ever seen.

Awful fight. Floyd was in the main event though, only a weight class apart from Norwood and Juan Manuel. Odd when you think about them fighting almost a decade later on PPV no less :nut

Just by looking at the punch stats you can imagine the snoozfest it was.

Punch stats had Norwood landing 73 out of 290 punches thrown to Marquez's 89 of 444.

Both landed less than 100 punches and Norwood only threw 290 punches in twelve rounds and JMM connect percentage was simply terrible

Na it ain't too bad bro. I was looking forward to Mayweather-Norwood around that time I remember. Plus if I could stay awake for Rigo's fights I could stay awake for any.

Losing a close fight is not the same as getting robbed.

With that in mind, I believe he was robbed in Pac 3 and against Norwood.

I agree with all of this.

With Pacquiao I, I might not say he "got robbed."

I don't like how the Chris John fight is somehow viewed as a robbery. Watch it. Super close fight.

Very surprised to see the John option to be so popular. I had Marquez winning by 1 the last time I scored it, however gave it to John the first time. I think many have just assumed it , because of the controversy that has surrounded John throughout his career with dubious decisions and haven't actually watched the fight. Not suprised to see JMM-Pac 3 as the most popular, but I'm a little surprised with their first bout. I guess you could make a case that because of the KDs in the 1st round, it was very tough to call it a robbery, but if you think he got the nod, I woukd have expected more to tick the box.

I had him beating Pac in II and III, I felt the knock downs in the first added to the fact that Pac actually won some rounds too much to give him that bout, I've never saw the Norwood fight and I had the John bout as really close, too close to say he was robbed.

    TBH no robberies there.

If it's about "deserving the win", then I'd say all of the above except Pacquiao 1.
I still have mixed thoughts about Pacquiao 2, as everytime I try to rescore that fight, I will end up with either a wide win for JMM, a slim win for Pac or another draw.
    Too close to call.

I can't believe people still thinks Norwood deserved that win.:bart
