Okay, worst case scenario, what if Jones got injured?

And he can't fight anymore. What would it mean for the scheduled card, the UFC, and Jon Jones?

Would Dana match Vitor with another 205 lber or someone from 185?

Would this be a nail in the coffin for the current system that UFC have and there would be an outcry for reform?

And being injured himself, would Jones be further be viwed in a negative light?

They'd just reinstate the originally scheduled main event. Don't forget that Johnson and Benevidez were supposed to be the headliners.

A lot of MMA fans already despise Jones to the point of absurdity and irrationality. He's going to get hate no matter what he does. There was, without exaggeration on my part, a 40 page thread on Sherdog attacking Jones for buying a cat instead of adopting one from a shelter after he tweeted about his new pet a few weeks back. I don't see how the hate for him can get much worse.
