Maybe, but his stock has plummeted massively, stinking performances, poor ticket sales, a loss...don't think he has the bargaining power right now, he's rebuilding.
He's just not very marketable. His style is hard to watch. He'll struggle to sell tickets at any weight division.
Dry your eyes Dramatwat. Your idol is working for Warren, how shameful after all his endless years of gobbing off aswell .
100% agree with this, it’s utterly ridiculous. This also goes for anyone and everyone who refers to calling that person that.
Okolie should be banned from ever setting foot in a boxing ring again. His performance against CBS was appalling. Never seen a more unwatchable boxer. Who in their right mind would pay to watch him?? Terrible
Boxxer / Sky know very well that they cannot use Okolie as a headliner on a UK Show after the negative and poor performance against CBS.
The situation with Okolie really is bizarre. I've always thought he interviews well and seems like a nice guy. He won very impressively (admittedly against a completely overmatched mandatory) on the Joshua-Usyk card at Spurs in front of a big TV audience. But since then he's been uninspiringly dull in every fight - Cieslak was boring, Light was genuinely appalling, then vs CBS he embarrassed himself. He talks about himself as a businessman, but surely a businessman knows that those tactics ruin his brand. Surely his management team secured the rematch clause as a reward for defending his title on away soil? Or did Boxxer / Sky stitch him up?
He improved under McGuigan, he was clinching less, he had some really good KO's and then he left McGuigan and went back to clinching constantly.
I agree. Shane McGuigan is no longer his coach and Okolie's boxing technique and tactics have fallen apart.
