I guess it's hard to pinpoint exactly when a boxer becomes a gatekeeper. It's not written on his passport and there's no belt. It just kinda evolves over time and reflects a pattern of performances in big fights. I think Okolie fought a gatekeeper and that's no sleight on either fighter. I thought the finishing punch was a peach. Amazing what you can do with tentacles when you untie them

Char would have been toyed with by Fury and there`s no way a cruiser could go 6 rounds with Wilder.

Check Joe Rogan's podcast, in it Wilder says that on fight night/day he weighed 208 lbs. Not sure why, maybe inadequate nutrition, stress, or something else.

If he had in the ring not Okolie but Tabiti, not alone Dorticos, they too had finished him in distance without problems.
29-32 y.o Glowacki versions too had beated up this current Glowacki creature in distance.
Glowacki usually weights 197-199 lbs in weight ins and might be approx 202 lbs in the ring.
Now he had 1. after being finished by Briedis 2. after almost 2 years without fights 3. after COVID.

Glowacki also is not 29-30 y.o anymore and I had been surprised that he did not weighted in like 197-199 lbs but lesser than 196 lbs.

So what was he? Interesting to see excuses being made after Lawrence iced him.

Eddie did not gave him better fight. Thank your western boxing business, WBO and you, and fans like you.

    Chisora will KTFO Okolie cold.
He is gatekeeper but do not call Dereck just journeyman.
Dereck had collected more from boxing fights than Okolie and he is willing to fight without months long nice noise talks.

Usyk will not ever get any respect from EE boxers haters like you.
YOU never in your life will respect Usyk even if he had been 5 times Olympic Champion and with 1000-0-0 pro boxing record.
You are EE boxers hater and troll in forums.

You are not skilled in boxing business and absolutely do not have any CLUE and SENSE about professional boxing even at club levels in U.S or U.K, do not pretend to be skilled and informed.

I will not talk with you, my TROLL.

For other posters I will explain: Gassiev had too long inactivity period and did not had any ranking points.
When boxer had done next fight in new weight class, regardless is this lower or higher weight class his ranking in some cases might be impacted by ranking in previous weight class, be it lower or higher weight.
Cos Gassiev was inactive pro boxer for rankings.

No one in top 50 had any carrer reason to fight vs Gassiev.
Btw even for example Tabiti at CW.

Good that guy had get his debut fight in HW at all.
Now ofc he might have more chances to get fights.

    What excuses?

Okolie was the favourite going in

Anyone with eyes knew Glowacki was nowhere near the level of his peak

His last 3 fights he has looked trash

Chuck Covid in the mix and things get worse

Its a good win however and one taken very nicely

I predicted Okolie would win by KO1, so bark up another tree.

All I am saying is there is no need to minimise Okojie’s win. What was impressive was the manner of his victory. He is developing from the awkward kid with power into a more polished boxer puncher. Credit must go to Shane McGuigan I as visible improvements are on display. That jab was beautiful and Okolie was going to the body very well softening up Glowacki until he pulled the trigger and it was all she wrote. Goodnight Irene.

Ofc, I also had posted tapology predictions, where 90% had been given for Okolie to win this one.

I had predicted that Okolie will win via UD, there is my post in predictions thread.

When I had saw Glowacki weight ins result : lesser than 196 lbs I wished to change my prediction to Okolie via TKO or KO cos :

Glowacki in majority of fights had 197-199 lbs weight in weight ins.

Don’t you think the manner of victory the way he did it was even better. I call this a mature, poised disciplined performance. Particularly impressed with his technical improvements.
