Well he was honest in a way saying "Heck if I could pull it off like he did, I'd probably do the same ***** move".
Maybe so. but he still tried to portray himself as someone whose primary concern is his legacy. His recent efforts in 'world title' fights have hardly been representative of a man who would do anything to win; the fact is if Enzo Mac hadn't gassed Ola would be a nobody whose opinion wouldn't be courted. And as far as i'm concerned he's not even a former 'world champ'; his interim title means **** because he didn't beat the man who claimed the full title from Ramirez (who admittedly was promoted from interim holder). And as for the accent how do you develop an American accent having been in the country a mere 12 years (he moved there when he was 18?
I was wondering the same thing. And i didn't know he'd been in the states that long. I thought he was an african living in the UK, and just recently came to the US
he lives between the two, hes on facebook. Im guessing his mum still lives here in the UK as hes seems to be here alot but training in cali. his accent is ****ed tho, met his outside peacocks gym in london
He was born in England, and then sent to Nigeria by his parents to experience his roots first hand. He then returned aged ten I believe, and began to box at Battersea boxing club. And it would seem that I got it wrong about how long he's been in the States - he moved out there in 2000, so he's only been there ten years!
Fought Enzo Mac in the UK then fought Huck in Germany back to back. And he fought Eric Fields when he was getting hyped up to be the new Cruiserweight destroyer. Ola is the anywhere and anytime type but no one wants to fight him because he's high risk and low reward. You clearly have something against him for some reason because you're are acting butt hurt for no reason. Every word he spoke was true. What are you a Haye fan? Mad because he spoke the truth about your ****** boy?
Yes i'm a Haye fan. I also leapt out of my seat with joy when Ola sparked Enzo Mac. I found his whole demeanour throughout the fight hilarious & was delighted when he got the win. However the fact remains that Ola travels because he has to - he's not in the position to make demands about where he fights. He also tried to paint himself as some sort of throwback fighter; let's face it his style is based around self-preservation and taking as little punishment as possible. He's got a good chin, no doubt, but he was losing both 'world title' fights handily and his demeanour was hardly one of a man who was overly concerned about defeat. If Enzo Mac hadn't gassed Ola would've lost every round. If he wants to be considered a fighter who 'fights' rather than coasts to points losses he's going to have show us something that he's never done before - a willingness to trade and get hit, a willingness to be the aggressor. Haye's recent actions may have disappointed many - I won't stick up for him until I know who his next opponent is, (the rumours have been worrying), but he's put himself out there and shown more fortitude and guts than Ola. That's a fact. He's got of the canvas to win titles against a reigning champ. He's waived his opponent in when hurt & thrown punches in a losing cause when he's had nothing left in the tank. Contrast this to Ola who went down with little more than a wimper in the closing stages against Huck. If i'm acting 'butt hurt' it's because Ola is in no position to criticise anybody over a perceived lack of heart after his last performance.
Oh and if you you take Ola's word as gospel than you can't give him credit for fighting Enzo Mac in Britain considering he himself claimed the fight was 'a homecoming', what with him being British and all.
