In Dusseldorf, Germany on March 3, Ola Afolabi will fight Valery Brudov for interim WBO cruiserweight title. The main event will be Klitschko-Mormeck.

Ola is one of those fighters who are so frustrating. This guy makes me think he could be a real star if his head was right. He just seems to be too laid back.
Too late in the day but I think he had the ability to be a far better fighter than his ledger would suggest.

He moves his head very well and is difficult to hit flush.

Could anyone explain why the interm belt is being fought between the #1 and #8 and not 1 and 2?

Good question. There's better fighters such as Lebedev, Masternak and Chakhkiev. Brudov was ruined by inactivity and has no chance in this fight.

I also have the same question. Lebedev is number 2, and he is also searching for an opponent. And I think that he deserves a title shot after what happened in his fight with Huck

Maybe Lebedev said no? Flores declined because he wanted more than 27 days to prepare.

Hopefully we'll see Afolabi-Huck II in a few months.

Lebedev is WBA interim champion, that's why probably.
