Great story. I hope Ola becomes a world champ. He deserves it (but then again so does every fighter who trains hard). Inspirational stuff anyway.

Nice story, the ending sounds like he's about to join The Money Team!

I'm normally the same with that kind of thing, but it comes across as more outright pride in how far he's come rather than bullish arrogance as is normally the case.

Good for Afolabi, he seems to be a nice guy in all the interviews I've seen of him. I didn't know he had this tough an upbringing.

Lewishamboy, thanks for posting this.Did you see the interview with Steve Bunce prior to him fighting Enzo?I got the impression Olu was proud of his British roots and it wouldnt have taken much for a GB promoter or manager to sign him.Think it would have been beneficial to both, and the fans, who I think would have taken to the lad more than Lennox,as he comes across as a great personality.IMO a shame.

His fight vs. Huck was one of my favorites of 2012. Keep it up Ola.

Who wouldn´t ? I know i would. It´s not like he is burning his money infront of cameras. He fought hard for what he has now. It´s prideful boasting.

Afolabi is actually an intelligent and level headed guy. Really fond of him.

Ola's one of my favorite fighters atm, would be gutted if he never picks up a belt in his career, he's probably partly to blame because he's never really been 100% committed and he's not managed his career too well but he's a good fighter and a nice guy.

Agreed.Only wish hed been snapped up in Britain, could have been a superstar instead of being in a sea of inferior cruisers in Germany and sort of 2nd fiddle to the brothers and a few more.

One of the best the uk have to offer yet he gets little coverage. His fights with Huck are awesome!
