Only took Ola a month to get fat. Like, fat. Guessing he's about 245lb now.

He is happily enjoying retirement, per his social media posts. :good

So anybody expecting that he will change his mind, give up the ghost. (although he did once shed 47lbs on four weeks' notice to knock out previously unbeaten prospect Eric Fields, but that was eight years ago... :think)

From what I understand, he was a terrific gym fighter - always gave the best guys trouble in sparring.

I'll always have fond memories of the night he made me a lot of money when he ko'd Enzo. Happy days.

One of the best chins of all time at cruiser weight, in my opinion. An ATG chin even outside of that, regardless.

    :good

Probably the 2nd best chin of his generation, after Fenix Ruiz.

 Ola has announced on social media that he was offered a world title bout for big money and is planning to accept the opportunity and go into training camp in December.

He won't divulge exactly whom the offer came from until the contracts are finalized.

Usyk (WBO)? Bellew (WBC)? Lebedev (WBA full/IBF)? Shumenov (WBA interim)?

Which of these jerks is baiting this happy retiree away from the buffet table and into the ring to milk a cheap "low risk but high name value" defense?

The only guy there I dislike is Bellew, so hopefully it was him - but at the same time hopefully not because he especially doesn't really deserve a W over Afolabi on his résumé.

If it's Bellew can you really blame him? LOL. I think he KO's Bellew, brutally ALA Chakhkiev. But yeah I agree, that clown having a W over Afolabi just wouldn't be right.

Story of boxing. Very rare to see a guy retire and stick to his word the 1st time.

It might be Shumenov, Afolabi will think he actually has a chance against him, but I can't imagine its going to be anyone but Tony Bellew (who he can beat as well), big domestic scrap that'll pay him well, hopefully Bellew will pay for dragging him out of retirement brutally.

I was optimistic when he started eating like a pygmy shrew...but, alas, the almighty dollar and its siren call... (not to mention, a belt without having to queue up...)

that was like a Pac kinda "retirement"...

wouldn't surprise me at all if it is indeed Bellew who offered him the fight.

He was good (flashes of greatness) albeit inconsistent pro fighter as well. Huck I,II and III were all razor close and he could have potentially taken all 3 if he gave just a tad bit more. Obviously Huck beat him very clearly in the 4th fight.
