It would not surprise me if I learned, beyond doubt, that a lot of what Henry Armstrong and Archie Moore said about this is true.

It isn't possible to not have accounts not based on race n politics when honestly discussing subjects like this tbh. We need to embrace that to call out the anti blackness of the time if you really care about the humanity of African Americans.

That said, I've read Pollacks recent book on Jack Johnson and it said that sometimes when he won there would b white mobs attacking black communities so I wouldn't doubt Armstrongs claim.

 

No offense but a lot of this history just isn't taught about how horrific African Americans had it at that time. There is no "I dont see color" stance when color is the idiotic reason they went thru those atrocities. Not to ignore the few good white Americans who stood out and sometimes even got k1ll3d fighting that racism too.
