It was good to see a well prepared Casamayor, instead of the one who fought Santa Cruz, however, i must say that the fighter that impressed me the most tonight was Katsidis, very exciting fighter, put on relentless pressure and was ahead on my card; i had it 86-82 for katsidis. Of course, Katsidis started off a bit over anxious and got caught with some real good counter lefts to the face that dropped him early, but once he got into his groove he was able to avoid some of those hands, and take the other ones, mainly because he saw them coming, u can say what u want about katsidis chin, but everytime u get hit by a punch that u dont see coming, its going to hurt u, besides, i think katsidis was seriously hurt in the 10th round, which like he said, he just got stupid. It was an entertaining fight, and an unfortunate event for Katsidis who really looked like the future Lightweight Champion of the World, having dropped Casamayor badly in the sixth round, and dominating most of the fight. But, at age of 27, u still have to admit that Katsidis has a bright future ahead of him as long as he regroups himself well, and is given a second chance, which i think will happen due to his exciting style. Now, focusing on Casamayor, i really have to say he looked good for the first rounds when he was countering Katsidis beautifully, but later on got caught on a toe2toe fight that he wasnt winning until the tenth round, all props to him also for an exciting fight, and perfect finish.

On a side note, wasnt it interesting how this lightweight fighters were actually lighter during fight night than SuperFeatherweights Pacquiao and Marquez??? Also, who do u think this fighters should fight next?? Whats in their future??? plzz feel free to comment on the fight or any subject you feel like discussing, Thnx 4 reading.

Nice post. I thought Casa started to regain momentum in the eight and ninth rounds, so I didn't think MK was as far ahead as you did. I was impressed with the heart of both guys. Not many guys come back from being dropped twice in the first round or knocked out of the ring in the sixth. May bigger paydays await both of them in the future.

it was a really good fight, and kind of dramatic, i agree that they should both land big payday fight in the near future, warriors like them really deserve it.

Just to clear up my scorecard:

    Casamayor-Katsidis
1)10 7 (two KD in favor of Casa.)
2)10 9 (good boxing by Casa.)
3)10 10 (i thought it could have gone either way, so i kept it a draw)
4)8 10 (Casa was out on his feet most of the rd, so i made it 10-8rd)
    5)9 10 (Mike outhusled him)
6)8 10 (kd in favor of katsidis)
    7)9 10 (also outhusled him)
8 )9 10 (very close, but thouth Katsidis was more effective)
    9) 9 10 ( i was going to have it a draw, but with the point deduction in favor of katsidis helped him get the rd on my scorecard.)

I had Casa winning the third and had the fourth a 10-9 round. I had Casa winning the eighth and ninth, but I can see them going your way. Some of the rounds were hard to score, so I think we were actually pretty close. MK was the agressor more often than not, and I am sure that won him some rounds.

I defenitly understand ur views, i really think i may have gotten a bit too excited in the 4th round, but i wanted it to keep it like i scored it in the moment, it was a close fight, and i really think it depended a lot on what style u think is more effective. :bbb

Very true. Katsidis was coming forward and applying pressure while Casa was slipping and countering. Both guys had their moments and I thought it was a close fight at the time of the stoppage.

    VERY entertaining scrap.
