    Should they be allowed?
I know they have plenty of Experience but their reflexes are not as good and they can miss alot.....

Refs are as physically demanded to be in shape and prime as the fighters.

There should be factor to consider when selecting a referee.

I think they should have a retirement age of 50, and that they should stick to judging if they want too.

What's old? I'm 19 and all the refs I see are old in my opinion.

So Steve Smoger shouldn't be a ref?

There are few exceptions, but the ref from Guerrero Berto had a hard time keeping up.

Steve Smoger, Kenny Bayless, and Tony Weeks are all older than 50, even older than 55.

Mills Lane and Arthur Mercante were also top of the line refs when in their 50s. It's never a good idea to put base ages on forcing retirement because some people age better than others.

There are refs that are far more competent and capable when in their 50s and 60s than other refs who are in their 30s and 40s.

age can be a factor, but minor league refs being thrown into a huge fight are worse than ages of refs. go from ref in a 12 year old PAL amateur tournament to Khan vs peterson on HBO seen all over the world....anyone remember that? disaster
