Floyd Mayweather has been going around claiming that he feels Marquez beat Pacquaio in both of their epic fights. However, I found a comment from ESPN.com from May 20, 2004 from the Pretty Boy that pretty much contradicts that. "Just like a couple of weeks ago, how is a guy (Juan Manuel Marquez) gonna get knocked down three times (by Manny Pacquiao) and still win 115-110? I just don't understand that. I could see him winning by a point, but 115-110 after being knocked down three times?" Now I love Floyd and believe is the best fighter in the world today. But he's really going out of his way to downgrade how good Manny is. Its obviously a cheap ploy to attempt to get the upper hand at the negotiating table if a fight between the 2 were to happen.
But he did say he seen him winning by 1 point still. However, you do make a great point man. Or he could have seen him winning by 1 point would be more accurate. Edited.
floyd is lucky .. he's able to say anything that he feels right or wrong ..and people will just say he's promoting ..
But seriously... Floyd will basiclly say anything that makes him look good. If he was fight Pacquaio he would be saying Pacquaio beat all the inportant fighters in those divisions includeing Marquez. I guess you could call it promotion... I call it Floyd being a egomaniac who is always trying to convince himmself.
Floyd doesn't need to boost himself. He does it to get eople to watch him. He knows people want to see him lose and by being an egomaniac on camera people will come and watch.
For one, Floyd contradicts himself all the time. Is this news? What's next, De La Hoya contradicting himself? Arum lying? Tyson getting arrested? Second, Floyd didn't even say that Pacquiao clearly won the first fight. He said he could see Marquez winning, just not by five points.
