Is it too far fetched for me to think Jones could possibly snatch a decision?

Given the trouble that Morrison and Stewart gave him, I think Jones' speed and movement could trouble Foreman.

I'm a huge Roy fan, but even a GLANCING blow from George could send Roy to the ER.

I think Roy shuts him out for awhile, then gets clipped one time, and doesn't get up for several minutes.

Roy would look great until he got hit. Even Foreman's jabs would be rocking Roy.

i'm an unabashed defender of roy but even i think that this is brutal for him. for ONCE he's in a fantasy fight where the opponent can knock him out at almost any time.

stewart fought frankly WAY above his skill level for that fight and i don't see roy adopting the morrison strategy (though from what i've seen george was really rusty anyway)

He has the legs, but...Foreman does not need leverage to hurt. If he manages a clinch, and he delivers one of those clubs to the kidneys, that could change the fight right there. And Foreman is brave enough to simply take Roys best and aim for a duel exchange in order to land.

Roy gets KO'd in the 9th, winning 8-0 on the score cards.

Foreman had an under appreciated sense of timing, which helped compensate for his physical decline.

Roy easily shuts out this overrated version of Foreman, this Foreman was schooled by Morrison and Schulz and the only reason he ko'd Moorer was because Moorer stood right in front of him. Morrison didn't have much of a chin,

Where was this timing against the chinny Morrison?

    Why the '93 Foreman?

Why not the '91 Foreman that fought Holyfield?

    Am I missing something here?

Shouldn't roy be a huge huge favourite to take this one?

Foreman was inactive and coming off a loss. Jones is much quicker and more mobile than mm.

    Jones takes this 12-0.

Noway on earth does he get clipped by a straight 1-2 down the pipe and george sure as **** aint gonna time him.

I watched Jones v Ruiz the other day, so Jones' one and only fight at the weight is still fresh in my mind.

Honestly? He could do it. He'd be smart enough not to let old George even breath on him, and the difference in handspeed is actually laughable.
Roy could potshot all damn night and move away before Foreman even thinks of throwing a punch.

Ruiz did bull Jones into the ropes on occasion, but Jones was actually very good at protecting himself on the ropes. He even invited Ruiz in on a few occasions. I also don't think he's quite as fragile as people think either; Ruiz did land a couple of stiff shots, but Jones was fine afterward.
If anything, it was Ruiz getting slightly wobbled by Jones that was the big surprise.

Obviously Ruiz is no Foreman, but truly I don't see how a guy that mobile and that quick is going to get caught. Jones was a pretty sharp cookie; he'd know how to win this fight.

Rubbish, no chance jones could last 12 rounds with that monsterous punchedr that is foreman! he couldnt get past foremans jab. and one of those weird hooks foreman does where he hits his opponents back/kidney would crumble jones. jones may possibly outbox him for 3-4 rounds using his fast feet but he wouldnt last long.

Foreman would have to land something which was hard enough against other heavyweights for him. I think his power in his comeback is overated. Briggs, Stewart, Grimsley, Savarese, Morrison, Moorer for most of the fight, these were guys with suspect chins and they all managed to go the distance with George with exception to Moorer.

I think Roy stands a good chance of boxing circles around the heavy bag. Jones chin wasnt that bad until after the Tarver fight.
