Seriously though, it's hard to compare.

It seems that right now, Holyfield is better than he was a few years ago. Maybe it was that shoulder injury.

Then again, it could also just look that way because he's fighting easier opposition compared to Byrd, Donald.

Foreman took his losses against Holyfield and Morrison. Byrd and Donald are a notch below but we could say that these losses may look like each other. If he beats Ibragimov now (which i don't expect), it might look a bit like Foreman beating Moorer after those losses.

Foreman had some struggles with Schulz, Savarese and Stewart. Holyfield beat but also had some struggles with a lack lustre Oquendo (also a fringe contender) but was quite convincing against Savarese, knocking him down twice. Savarese was somewhat older than when Foreman faced him though.

Holyfield seems to be very adept technically still and pacing himself well. Foreman, despite having improved his technique, was still very hittable. But then again, Foreman did seem to be bailed out by his power, whereas Holyfield probably needs to outbox Ibragimov over the entire stretch, which is gonna be very hard.
It seems to me that they're close, but it's really hard to tell.

I think Foreman was better. I think the type of fighter Foreman was lends itself to questionable stamina whereas Hollyfield tries to defy nature (bit dramatic but you see what I mean). I think Hollyield will be found out, probably next time out...

As for these two fighting in the advanced stages of their career, be fascinating. Despite the fact that I feel Foreman is the better old man, I think Hollyfield would probably beat him. Hollyfield could probably outwork Foreman early on, as expected, but then out-general him in the late rounds for a horrible decision.

I think it would have made quiet compelling viewing.

Old Foreman takes it. Old Evander can't get out of the way like he used to because his legs are gone and old George can still punch like a sledgehammer. If James Toney can deck an old Holyfield than old George can put him in the hospital and give him punch induced amnesia.

Foreman, he still had the power, size, and strength, similar to that of his youth and performed at a fairly consistant and predictable level, whereas Holyfield has been abused for years, his form has been hit or miss at best.

Foreman lost less with age, and had further to fall from to begin with.
