Tyson wins for the majority of that time period. Mike lost to Douglas in 1990 though so old George has a chance if Tokyo Mike shows up. I would have to have this matchup in 90 after George demolished Gerry C.

Yeah, I actually think the word brutal is appropriate in this situation, remembering how Holyfield teed-off on Foreman.

The reason the fight never happened was because Foreman didn't sign the contract and then Tyson went to prison. End of.

I can see Tyson has the advantages in speed and youth and accuracy of punches, but I just can't picture him winning.

I mean, to beat Foreman you really need to be able to fight backing up.
Tyson just looks too square-on and straight-ahead for Foreman.

You could also argue that Foreman, especially old foreman never met anyone with quite the package and firepower Tyson does.

Foreman would also be one of the slowest guys Tyson has fought and Foreman wasn't exactly elusive himself.

i see Tyson pummeling Foreman for a mid to late stoppage, or b) Tyson pummeling Foreman until he pulls out a Moorer type trick.

"I didn't sign the contract because i was more afraid of Don King and the dotted line than Tyson" George Foreman.

Honestly, why does this still need explaining to people?

Foreman kept calling out Tyson, and then when approached by King, he backs off claiming he was more scared of King than Tyson.

Tyson and King called Foremans bluff.

There's a video on youtube which i posted in an earlier thread where Lampley and Merchant ask Foreman how he feels about fighting Bowe, Foremans answer says it all.

    True.
That's what I mean. I see the advantages Tyson has.
I just can't imagine Foreman going out like Frank Bruno to a little man like Tyson.

Stop putting words into Foreman's mouth Asser...

His words were "I got more afraid of Don King and the dotted line than of Mike Tyson."

Mike Tyson was well known to be fearful of the monstrous Foreman. When asked by Don King to fight Foreman Tyson screamed... "I'm not fight in' that ****in' animal, if you love the mother****er so much, you fight him!'"

Tyson said Foreman was a con man acting like a soft old Grandpa when in reality he was a dangerous killer, he called Foreman a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Don King later found out from Steve Lott that Tyson and Cus used to watch Foreman's destruction of Frazier over and over, Tyson was in awe of Foreman's punching power. Tyson remembered what Cus had told him, short attacking fighters fighting Foreman are committing suicide. Tyson was very wary of Foreman and didn't want no part of the ATG.

that's what i mean, if anything happens it will be in the second half of the fight.

Bruno in the first fight actually came to fight he had some success but Tyson very quickly.wore him down, i see the same thing happening to Foreman, and Foreman was even slower than the stiff Bruno. Of course Foreman lasts more than 5, but i see a similar scenario with Tyson just outworking and outbombing Foreman and stopping him on his feet.

Can't bet against Tyson here, he had an iron chin. Lots of fighters took
plenty of shots from George. Mike had too much in his offensive and defensive ****nal. 40-0 George might destroy Mike. But out of the 90s guys maybe Bowe
    could beat Mike.

I don't know whether the stories of Tyson being afraid of Foreman are true or not, but if he was then he was very much misguided!
