I say Foreman stops him... that ramrod jab alone would bust up and hurt Wlad, and combine that with body punches and hooks and uppercuts in the clinch and it's over for Wlad. Wlad doesn't have the legs nor stamina to keep Foreman away for 12 rounds, and good luck trying to clinch and tie up Foreman. Yea, Foreman will take some bombs from Wlad but his chin is one of the greatest we saw in HW divison, he should be able to soak it up and break Wlad mid rounds. It only took 5 rounds for Brewster to get the job done. Your thoughts?
I don't like Wladimir Klitschko but the old Foreman had big problem with Alex Stewart who was a very vulnerable fighter. Wladimir was bigger and better than Stewart considering this i can't imagine an old Foreman win.
I think the mental pressure is what will end up clinching the victory for Foreman. As mentioned, a very basic no defense slugger like Brewster took Wlad out with sheer determination. Wladmir panics if someone can take it as well as they dish it out. Not only does Foreman have a granite chin, his defense was better than Brewsters with big bony muscular arms providing a solid cross arm defense. Combine that with a devastating jab and 30 years of experience and punching power and its only a matter of time. If wladmir was a better defensive fighter and didnt rely on simply hugging when his opponent got close, id pick him to win this fight 8 times out of 10 even considering his glass jaw. He has speed, reach, and better overall ring generalship and textbook technique over foreman. But we can only go with what we actually saw in the ring, and old foreman more often than not, slowly breaks wladmir down, taking him out within 10 either by stoppage after multiple kds or a brutal uppercut Ko similar to the one joshua landed. Hypothetically if wladmir fought a perfect fight and slowed foreman down with body shots and kept things on the outside, he might be able to pull of a split decision win. It might end up looking like the first samuel peter fight with wladmir needing to peel himself off the canvas and dig deep to pull it off. He may not be good at taking hits, but he had a lot of heart, knew how to win rounds, and stuck to a game plan. I just dont see this being the most likely scenario tho. If push came to shove and foreman knew he needed a knockout to win, I just dont see wladmir having the tools and endurance to keep foreman off of him and surving.
Old Foreman gets absolutely malleted. They both work off the jab. Wlad's jab is crisper, faster and more accurate. That's basically all we need to know here. But, to go deeper into the subject: Klitschko has incomparably better footwork than old man Foreman. He will be able to control distance and control when and where the engagements take place. Furthermore, Wlad built his career around being an elusive boxer. If Morrison was able to outbox old Foreman then Wlad will do a paintjob on him.
Wlad damn near kills him. A horrible mismatch. A third rate non-entity in Morrison squeaked out a decision for Crissakes.
I can see somewhat of a Brewster scenario happening, with Wlad outboxing Foreman, but burning a lot of energy up from a too high workrate and general nervousness. Foreman would definitely take his lumps, but stops Wlad in 8 or 9 rounds.
It's off topic, but Vitali on the other hand would easily decision Foreman, possibly even stopping him late due to facial damage.
Wlad had a pulverizing jab and a Nuke for a right hand. He is criminally underrated on these forums. He went 11 years after Brewster barely losing a round. Foreman who was busted up by Alex Smith would be stopped. Foreman was too slow of foot and couldn’t push the pace like “relentless” Lamon Brewster did in the first fight. Yes Wlad did have nervous energy and tired out early in his career twice Purrity and Brewster (and he didn’t look confident at all in the Davaryl Williamson fight) but once he got into a groove he became near unbeatable. Michael Moorer was hurting Foreman, Wlad is a true heavy that would blast Moorer out in 3 rounds and stop old foreman.
I love it how people who pick Wlad are referring to the Old-Old version of George. The 1989-91 Foreman would crush lil' Klit.
Depends how old. I give the guy who fought Holyfield a chance. If Big George does to Wladdy what he did to Evan Fields in that seventh round...
Would be another version of Foreman v Morrison .But George would find himself even more behind in the scoring .Wlad never allows George to hit cleanly ,his jab and tying him up basically has Foreman unable to get a advantage i n the fight. Of course there's a chance GF could connect solidly as he did Moorer but I'm not sure he gets a chance here . Wllad by a wide unanimous points win .
The fact people are actually backing Foreman says a lot about this forum & how certain attributes as well as older fighters get glorified Foreman gets annihilated.
