i think old george was a much more intelligent, much more savvy fighter, yet he retained his concussive power and may even have improved in the already granite chin department....who wins this strange fantasy fight...

Young George, without a doubt in my mind. He'd be too fast for his older self, and would end the fight before the seventh. Old George would be rescued,on his feet,by the referee.

1973 Foreman VS Old Foreman 1991 = Mega-WAR with lots of Haymakers - BUT it would be short as ****....

Old Foreman is IMPOSSIBLE to knock-down cos he have Super-IRON cheen - BUT Foreman can rock/hurt anyone with his Haymakers [ as he most-powerful puncher OAT ] And he could beat Old Foreman to teh punch with his faster Haymakers to get referee to stop teh war.

    Foreman TKO 3 Old Foreman.

I would probabley cry at teh end if Old Foreman was messed-up.

This is a bad situation for young Foreman, who was no match for the older version in physical strength. Young George would be forced on the back foot, and made to move, exerting himself unnaturally. Old Foreman was dangerous when hurt, as Cooney and Lakusta discovered. Taking a hard shot tended to wake him up and infuse him with a sense of urgency. If young George tried to engage in a chess match, the elder one's hard and accurate jab would predominate. By the late rounds, the youngster would be exhausted from overexertion as his inefficient and wasteful movement, combined with the concise ring cutting of his elder, led to a stoppage. Old Foreman was more proactive in defending himself than the young buck, who would be there to be hit. Septuagenarian Archie Moore was the key architect of George's comeback, wrote the book on how an aged boxer can succeed, and in fact lived to see Foreman complete his career.

I am among those who believe the elder version had a better chin. I suspect that Lyle might not have been able to drop the elder statesman, while Morrison, Cooney and Lakusta may have decked the kid with the punches the old man took on his feet. The increase in physical strength and muscle mass by the weight trained comebacker was frightening.

I think that young George would have slaughtered Morrison.

The aggressive attack of his youth would have been very bad news for Tommy's chin. If Morrison came in at the outset planning to hit and run right, he might be okay, but I think the power of Foreman's punch would eliminate him before Tommy had a chance to experience and adapt to George's superior physical strength.

It's a tough pick IMO, leaning toward Young George though.

The old man is 40Lbs. heavier and actually much stronger than the young man. He uses his size to lean on and wear out fighters. He also pushes people off him with ease... usually followed up with a punch. The old man is smarter, sticks to his fight plan better, doesn't take as many chances, and paces himself better. He defends pretty well and his cross armed defense ain't bad. His arms are so massive that they almost cover everything up when he uses it.

The young man is a little quicker, has a better hook, and a little more snap on his punches.

    Young Foreman by close decision.
