Holmes was 52 vs. a 35-36 Bean. Age makes a difference. Can't keep the young guy away forever at that point.

Yeah, I guess you are right. Holmes really looked bad in that fight. But I don't think he trained too hard for that fight either.

Esch was probably motivated for the first time ever against Holmes... It was a ten round fight... He probably felt it might be a stepping stone to something bigger.

No contest, Foremen would have turned Butterbean into plain Butter. He is tailor made for a young (or old) GeorgeForeman.

I favor Foreman but the above points are valid.

Boxing matches have too many factors. Foreman had tremendous power in career 2. Most of the time George's slowness prevented him from landing CLEANLY. Measuring Foreman's power to Butterbean's
would be better achieved on a stationary heavy bag. I believe Foreman's punch would be WAY more powerful than Butterbean's punch.

I respect Magoo's opinion, but I think Bean is gettin sold a bit short, if we're talking power. Yeah, he was a **** boxer who fought a bunch of shitty nobodies, but what always impressed me was how he knocked them out - usually in quite devastating fashion.

He had heavy hands and quite surprising speed for such a fat guy, and 58 ko's in 77 fights isn't half bad when you consider they were scheduled for 4 rounds.

I think if he hit you cleanly you'd stay hit for sure.

But I have to agree that Foreman's power was more proven because he fought legitimate fighters, so you have to give him the nod. I don't think the difference in power between the two is that great though.

Probably not. Holmes was sporting a fairly big gut.

Not the best picture, but you can see parts of the fight on YouTube and see how bloated he is.

But still a good performance for a 52 year old man.

Butterbean has tremendous punching power, if you had a guy taking a hit cleanly by Butterbean he would be out, the same goes for foreman.

foreman is the much better boxer.

Butterbean is the shittiest boxer with the best knockouts, his power is the only thing why he is above the bumps he knocked out.

I saw a compilation of Butterbean's KOs on YouTube.

    They all looked fake.

He would lunge forward like a sack of potatoes, touch his opponent on the face and the guy would go down for the count.

I doubt that in a legitimate fight he could have knocked anyone down.

Even Floyd Patterson would have stayed on his feet.
