Oddly enough, I think old Foreman would outlast the younger one, whose pacing issues are legit. George was never a master boxer, but he fought much smarter as an old man than in his physical prime.

EASY fight to pick just ask this...how does a fighter more than 30 pounds less...less stamina/power/technique /chin and smarts defeat a smarter, stronger, better technically/more stamina and managed 90's foreman?Really does anyone think a 70's foreman standing directly in front of himself at 260 with arguably the best chin in boxing history stand a chance when he was even dropped by J.Young and out brawled by Lyle and dropped twice before coming back?Foreman under Dundee in the 90's would be licking his lips with a guy if he didn't knock you out or outsize you has little chance of winning.

I hear you but older Foreman was also slower, far less active (which is a big part of why he seemed to have more stamina), and more hittable than the younger version. I think he would take some serious punishment in this fight before younger Foreman wore himself out.

I like your posts ,but totally disagree here.....Foreman actually tightened up his defense and shortened his punches making his punches land cleaner and sooner,he devolped a real sneaky uppercut right ,off his hip...watch the ****ey fight, speed was not much of an issue as telegraphing then which the 70's foreman did,70's Foreman had extreme poor defense, foreman of 90's wasn't the best but it was there and you had to step inside to get to him...you have to take into account 90's foreman didn't soley relie on just outsizing his opponents,he had a much better chin, and style he patiently set his traps up,he didn't rush in like a wild bull then spend himself.Theres also nothing foreman could be hit with that he wouldn't counter,Foreman wasn't a combo puincher at any year...Holyfield hit him with 20 unanswered blows I highly doubt 24 year old forema would get that opportunity and getting hit by 20 punches really ,whats more to be said...70's Foreman would be a welcoming Mat for the real big George at 260.

also one important thing look at his jab in the 90's a cannon like arccurate jab ,and the only fast punch he really had...it would control the smaller Foreman and hurt him quite easily on that punch alone.I have that jab in my top 5.

Fair enough--I'll have to rewatch some more old Foreman fights and get back to you.

I'm not going to pick a winner, but will add that older George had terrific balance, and would easily have still been standing upright taking the same shots from Ron Lyle, which decked him twice. Jimmy Young caught George with a sneaky shot as he was turning away. Something else which wouldn't have happened with George sr.

I was going to say that old Foreman would have a decent shot in this one, but I see the entire forum already beat me to it. I still think younger Foreman would have to be the favourite; the older version would have to eat some huge bombs to win this one.

Not really this is foreman vs Foreman the other oppenents of different eras don't come into play here.

Lets see who really did have the better competiton ...

    70's foreman Ali
    J.young
    Ron Lyle

    90's foreman Holyfield
    Morrison
    Moorer

I would say 90's foreman opponents stand a much better chance of beating 70's foreman.Personally I think all the 90's guys foreman fought would win.

Of course that's only if you believe 90's Foreman was better than 70's,i do,i don't see how the majority of the boxing community can see otherwise.
