I agree with you, although I am sure you will hear some disagreement from some on this board.

Hopkins is tough now and was a beast in his prime. I would have loved to see him beat down William Joppy and Keith Holmes back in the 90's when Don King was keeping both of them as far away from Hopkins as possible.

Yeah, Holmes was a really good fighter. Hopkins had to adjust to beat him. Joppy is a very good 'B' fighter.

I think Joe can beat Hop, but we'll see if the old man has anything left. Hops impressed me with the Winky fight. He definitely knows how to win.

This is why he's an ATG.

He may not fight who you want him to fight and some of his fights might be a little boring - but if everything is right - he'll fight.

Remember - he went through most of his career doing it his way. It wasn't until after the DLH fight that he really started using a Promoter - such as GBP.

I have a lot of respect for this man.

Oh definately but calzaghe will be a different proposistion at 12 stone 7 because unlike winky the jump is not that lot because winky should be at 154 or 160 really.

That's a massive understatement. Winky looked like crap. his defense wasn't nearly as good as it usually is, and his jab (which is normally a very respectible weapon) turned into a slow overhand punch that was very easily avoided. all hopkins did was clinch like a ***** over and over and over again, despite the warnings that there would be a penalty (which there wasn't; bad reffing). hopkins didn't so much win that fight as winky lost it.

not so much on a tear as he is on an overhyped old-man shuffle down the hallway.
