Ferguson was a strange one he started off as quite a highly rated undefeated prospect and was in that young Heavyweight tournament in the mid 80s.

Beat a young Buster Douglas and lost to a war to Carl Williams in which he had his man down twice, after the Williams loss he seemed to turn into a journeyman but i think he's considerably better than what his record suggests. He survived fairly long against a prime Tyson taking plenty of whacks, beat Mercer and came close to beating Holmes underrated fighter is Ferguson a very tough journeyman.

    I like Holmes. Big.

Way too smart and he won't be going for a ko anyway. Happy to come in and walk out with a decision win. Cannot see the Tua footwork and mobility being with 1 step of where he'd need to be. I think he gets jabbed while being squared up and I sure don't think a guy like Bloodworth is going to make adjustments--even if Tua followed instructions.

I think Holmes gives away a round or 2 and that gives the tuaman a harder work ethic for the next round after winning a round. Buy Larry knew what he was doing giving away a round and would go right back to dominating when Tua tries to establish some momentum.

Tua really needs to be a devastating body puncher to slow the old guy down. Buy he never did fire off that hook to the body the way Weaver or Cooney could. More like Brewster and can only fire it upstairs. Just too many things Tua does not do well to come out with his hand raised against a Larry Holmes.

I'm enjoying both sides of the argument. I am in the Holmes camp but can appreciate Tua is dangerous to an older more stationary target as he carries his power all night.
