This is why CEJ should get all the respect he deserves if he wins, there should be no excuses about age or GGG's weak p4p resume. CEJ will be the undisputed p4p no1, until Ward vs Kovalev. If Ward win's he would go to no.1 and if Kovalev win's then CEJ stays no1 because you earn less p4p points beating smaller fighters and earn more fighting bigger fighters. If CEJ's stamina is his biggest issue GGG is in for a tough night. The guy averages 90-120 punches per round and he always sets the pace in his fights. Its easy to pace yourself fighting at a slower pace, if GGG tries fighting at the 90-120 punches per round pace he wont last 12 rounds, he doesn't have that kind of stamina.
eubanks won't throw anywhere near 80-120 punches per round against golovkin. he leaves himself wide open doing that. he'll be outta there quickly if he tries that.
Golovkin is 34 years old. He doesn't have a 27 year old gas tank anymore because the fact that he's 34 years old makes him 34. There is a irreversible loss of stamina potential once you hit the mid 30s. You can take a highly sedentary man at 34 and get him into better shape than he's ever been. But take that same man and train him when he was 27 years old and he will have more fuel in the gas tank than he would have had at 34. Golovkin is not a young fighter anymore. The gas tank will start taking nosedives. It's already not what it once was before. Simply because he's 34. Look at how pathetic Hopkins' gas tank is. It's a really sad gas tank. Just horrible. Yea he's 50 years old now, but his tank hasn't been the same since the late 90s.
Eubank ain't great, but he's good, and better (or toughter-- Stevens) than anyone GGG has been in with. It's a damn good fight, both guys take a beating, GGG TKO-10.
Eubank does have youth on his side for sure. If he can force Golovkin to work hard and expend energy than he can wear down the older man. I'm still picking Golovkin though.
He is minimum p4p top 3, pretty much consensus really. You can have him 1, 2 or 3 but no worse on the list CEJ probably isn't in the top 150, but beating the man makes you the man?
Eubanks is a very confident young man and he will not fully understand the trouble he has gotten himself in until he receives the first vicious body dig or the first clean right hand. The look on his face will be priceless.
