Old Meehan looked pretty sharp against Cameron

Good performance. At the world class level, Meehan, is at best a fringe contender, but he deserves credit for still being top flight at the regional level at his age.

There's rumors he's going to fight Tua next in an all New Zealand clash. He'd make big money for that - his previous high is the 200k for winning the tournament - and it's a safe fight.

I've always been a fan of Meehan. The Danny Williams fight really killed a lot of his momentum early on and he could never really get going years later vs. Rahman. I think you and I have agreed before, he's done more this year to earn a shot on Wlad than Briggs has, lol.

Yeah Meehan should have gotten the strap from Brewster, and he also got royalled screwed by the WBA after delivering a brutal KO over Williamson, the WBA had him as the mandatory challenger for about 2 years but blocked him out of the Valuev, Chagaev, Ruiz circle jerk

 

at the time, Meehan would have beaten either of those 3 too.

was a late inclusion when he fought Williamson and had virtually no sparring or anything I think he said.

 

Would've beaten Valuev or Ruiz, but I don't know about Chagaev back when he was near his best.

 

I don't think he would have beaten Chagaev in that time, and considering that Chagaev DID beat him....I think it holds.

 

he fought ruslan after 2 years off. and u could see his timing was way off for the first half of the fight. he would have missed hitting ruslan if he stood in front of him for those 6/7 rounds, lol.

 

Maybe now that Danny Williams is the most shot fighter that ever fought, Meehan can get his revenge, after Danny destroyed him.

 

He could probably get revenge on Rahman now too :yep
