there are so many fighters who get better with age...some fighters mature late mentally or physically, some guys finally get it.

Nah, I would have listed Fitzsimmons! I would say the least competitive match you listed was Klitschko vs. Adamek. In this match the older man didn't have to outsmart anyone, rest, and counter. He dominated the action and stopped a much younger ranked challenger who in his prime, and flighting in his home country.

J, Jack Dempsey was 45 years old when he "fought" and almost killed Cowboy Lutrell in 1940. You can still see "traces" of his vicious ,unrelenting
left hooks, even at the age of 45. Just imagine young Dempsey of Toledo,
    21 years before ! Ouch...

Dempsey was a beast...I could see him feasting on Foreman comeback type opponents and going 30-0 even at 45

As he would as Cowboy Lutrell wasn't even a boxer he was a wrestler  Most featherweights would knock out Cowboy Lutrell in a boxing ring

Yea a pro boxer beating up someone who's never boxed before, how mightily impressive :nut

J,of course Dempsey was facing a wrestler. I was responding to the question ",how old Dempsey was in 1940", and even at the old retired age of 45, any discerning reader would see traces of that great left hook, and that "kill or be killed" attitude of his youth. But the Dempsey haters never miss an opportunity to bash him, even at the age of 45....And when I just posted an answer as to his age in 1940, and {forgive me], traces of his left hook youth, poor Jack get's bashed again. Sick, sick, sick...But cheer to U...
P.S. methinks Dempsey's name should be persona non grata on ESB, as it offends too many partisan posters. Tranquilizers should help....
