I would test the waters by bringing back 15 rounders but not for every belt holders garden variety defenses. No mandatories, keep them at 12.
For unification fights like for example Porter/Spence in evenly match elite boxer make it 15.

I didn't mean it as a joke. That game was lethal.

I was streaming a fight off ESPN+ a while back, the commentators were openly discussing how the belts are props and don't really matter. It's pathetic how little prestige the belts have these days.

This is great, but I would add in one more thing. The dissolution of several weight classes. Let's bring the 17 weight classes down to 11. Eliminate Straw, Jr. Fly, Super Fly, Super bantam. Super middle and Cruiser. It would take a couple of years to undo the damage that years of greed by the alphabet boys caused. Such as i believe the cruiserweight division is what sparked the fat heavyweight era (PEDs had a bit to do with that too) and it would take awhile for the fans to come back once they realized they knew most every champion and fighter once again. But this would cause a new renaissance in the sport.

I've long felt this. Let the KO happen rather than the losing fighter repeatedly brought to the brink. Just watch Donaire yesterday. What was that? For all the ref's good intentions, Donaire got the privilege of getting more pummeling....

I believe that smoking in a fighter's corner during a bout should be made optional...strictly voluntary....in honor of the great Nicolino Locche.

Bring back the guy who's only job was to carry the spit bucket. Was a time when no-one was told to drink water in-between rounds. You just rinsed your mouth and spat it out.Now everyone drinks water in-between rounds. Is this due to modern medical advice?

I think the standing 8 count would be so important for the health of the fighters today..

The sashes were kind of cool (a bit like a western analogue of martial arts belts) but those thongs need to be erased from my memory the day science makes it neurologically possible.

15 rounds again? They can't make it to 12 let alone 15.
