Im trying to find many of the lost principles and tactics from "old school" boxing (40's,50's,60's) that are not used by many modern day fighters today......for example- fighting off the back leg heel down or facing the opponents centreline, etc etc This content is protected Anyone else have any old school principles they'd like to share? any links? Trying to get more knowledge on the some of the lost principles of boxing
Facing the opponent's centerline is not oldschool, it's basic boxing. Old school would be wearing a thong in the ring like the guy in that picture.
Just a word of advice which you probably already know, but many fighters stand completely different when they are taking pictures for the media than they actually stand while fighting. Just type Mike Tyson into google images and you will see plenty of his media photos with his guard significantly different than anything you would see in his real fights. You could do this for pretty much any fighter tyson was just top of my mind.
