In the old days some fighters fought like looking down to opponets feet, for example. Henry Armstrong, Rocky Marciano and Joe Frazier. Do this kind of style work in nowdays? What kind of fighters are able to master the style? Do it require granite chin and high stamina? What are the benefits and disadvantages in this style?

For sure its very entertaining for the audience  Do any top pro use this style in the current boxing era?

From my experience as an amateur , I wouldnt recommend it as much in the amateurs as it's shorter fights so generally more shots are thrown at a higher tempo.

It's probably effective if you are what they call a "banger", either you have natural power or have developed supreme punching power through your training. Also, the three fighters you mentioned are more like swarmers/sluggers, due to their volume of punching, not just looking for that one big knockout shot like a complete slugger would. If you want a complete slugger, look no further than a fighter like George Foreman.

I'd recommend going for more of a swarmer approach if you have high punching power/stamina, as sluggers will miss out on piling up points and can sometimes leave themselves open or tire themselves out easily.

I know what you mean as in sluggers, but if you study them these guys were very different. Armstrong and Marciano tho their style was not very sweet, they had some of the best stamina and conditioning in boxing history and had great chins to take shots and recovered very well. Armstrong a volume puncher, Marciano a powerpuncher, and Frazier heavily committed to bobbing and weaving to get past his opponents reach and wasn't really known to have an iron chin. It was believed he was actually a converted southpaw too, perhaps why his left was so effective. Chavez Sr had great conditioning too with very good Frazier-like bobbing and weaving with good power. I remember reading somewhere he always chewed alot of gum to strengthen his jaw. Currently Prov, Maidana, Matthysse, Rios, and even Pacquiao are considered top sluggers/fighters moreso than boxers because their styles are mostly for pressuring their opponents into slugging matches. Their methods for doing that is different. In the ams the computerized punch system is used, but hardly counts bodyshots and combinations. Perhaps why sluggers fair so much better in the pros. Hoped that helped alittle.
