I suspect that Fitzsimmons would counter Ketchell's rushes, and take him out at some point. It might end up being like Hagler Heans.
You can't beat Fitzsimmons as a pressure fighter without considerable size advantage. Look what Fitz did to Sharkey and Gardner - both were bigger than Ketchel and arguably better.
Agreed. I run a cross-era universe using Title Bout Boxing and these two just fought for the title which is what prompted the question in he first place...Fitzsimmons took Ketchel's title on a technical decision after a cut, then TKO'd him in the 13th in their rematch. I actually think Fitzsimmons would have stopped him a bit earlier than that, but perhaps that's selling Ketchel's tenacity short. GH
