Should sprints be done in 3 minute intervals with 1 minute rest in between?

no. make them short so you can keep sprinting at a fast pace. At the end of three minutes I doubt you'd be full out sprinting.

old school is when you spend an entire day training, eating steaks, making yourself bleed, running 10 miles etc

    Both Work.

The guys used to be able to box 15 rounds. They must have been doing somthing right. LSD is beneficial as is HIIT. For example look at Livingstone Bramble's workout from back in the day:

    AM
    5-7 mile run

    Situps
    Pushups
    Stretching
    Went for a walk
    Had Breakfast

    PM
    15 mins stretching

Shadowboxing-4x3 mins rounds (30 sec break after each round)

Sparring- 4-15 x3 mins rounds (30 sec break each round)(Built up Sparring as Camp progressed)

Heavybag-4x3 mins rounds (30 sec break after each round)

Speedball-3x3 mins rounds (30 sec break)

    Double end bag-3x3 mins rounds

Skipping-12-30 mins (building up over training camp)

    Floor exercises-2-8x25 Situps
    -6x25 leg raises and holds

After training he would go Swimming or went dancing (Jazz Dancing)

He did that 6 days per week

You would be in shape to fight anyone with that.

I like the old fashioned way of just boxing and running. Although I do visit the fitness gym every saturday and use the treadmill, rotary torso machine and leg/calf training machines. I think it's a great finishing touch to my old school training.;)

Shannon Briggs modernized his training methods, and consequently he got modern results.

yes that was very modern indeed, infact all he had done was used a few machine weights to make him bigger and bulkier and scarier, why couldn't vitali or wladimir do that though??? they too followed modern training methods??

i think you should just go back to jerking off from joe fraziers book:good

this might sound shocking and might come as a surprise but i gotta tell you......

joe louis is dead!! so is rocky marciano!!!

old school training has done very good for mr eric esch, he does nothing but good ol' bagwork, skipping and sparring.

i think you will get the point i am trying to make.....
