I'll abstain from answering that, they (and you) will think I'm nagging.

There is no bibliography or footnotes that I could see. The author says at the start of the book that he used reflections and renderings from first-hand accounts and second-hand recollections. Quotes from newspapers of the day and fight reports.

I haven't read the book as yet but at 206 pages it seems to be a breezy read rather than a book of the stature of a Pollack, Moyle or Compton.

Yes, it looks like either the hardcopy has some significance or the new price is the result of it being available electronically.

I am guessing it is pretty rare, can't remember where I bought it originally, might have been direct from the author. Very limited publication numbers.

I wonder what the normal number of copies of a boxing book sold are?

I think unless you are talking about big names recognized by the general public that it is limited. I remember as a kid seeing various books listed in ring magazine that did not seem to be available anywhere else. I’m going to have to dig up one of those old magazines and take a look at those. I am curious if there is anything good there.

I think self publishing remove some of the barriers to getting books published but also lowers the quality bar. I read read” Smokin Joe Frazier eternal bad ass”by Casey Evans and while it contained some interesting anecdotes I don’t think anyone outside of Casey Evans friends and family would claim that it is a good book.
